About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accountant to join a professional finance and accounting team in Canada. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting financial reporting, and ensuring accounting activities are completed efficiently and in accordance with applicable accounting standards and company procedures.

Key Responsibilities

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and accounting documentation.
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closing processes.
- Reconcile bank statements, general ledger accounts, and financial transactions.
- Monitor invoices, payments, expenses, and supporting documentation.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Support the preparation of financial statements and management reports.
- Ensure accounting records comply with company policies and applicable requirements.
- Coordinate with internal departments, auditors, and other stakeholders when required.
- Identify discrepancies and assist with resolving accounting issues.
- Maintain confidentiality of financial and business information.

Required Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.




- Relevant professional accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Experience with accounting software or ERP systems.
- Solid skills in Microsoft Excel and financial data management.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Canadian accounting practices or reporting requirements.
- Experience with ERP/accounting platforms such as QuickBooks, Sage, SAP, Oracle, or similar systems .
- Professional accounting designation or progress toward a relevant designation is an asset.
