(JD) – Head of Purchase / Procurement

Position: Head – Purchase & Procurement

Department: Supply Chain / Procurement

Reporting To: Director

Position Summary The Head of Purchase will be responsible for leading the organization's strategic sourcing, procurement, vendor management, import procurement, cost optimization, and supply chain initiatives for fan and motor manufacturing operations. The role involves managing domestic and international procurement from countries such as Vietnam, China, Thailand, and other global sourcing markets while ensuring uninterrupted material availability, quality compliance, and cost competitiveness.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Procurement & Sourcing

- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Lead sourcing of raw materials, electrical components, motor parts, fan components, , and indirect procurement requirements.
- Identify alternate sourcing opportunities to reduce procurement costs and supply risks.
- Establish annual procurement plans and budgets.

Domestic & International Procurement

- Manage procurement from domestic and international suppliers across Vietnam, China, Thailand, Taiwan, and other sourcing markets.
- Handle import sourcing, supplier negotiations, commercial agreements, and contract management.
- Monitor international market trends, commodity prices, freight costs, and currency fluctuations.
- Ensure timely procurement and shipment tracking to meet production schedules.

Vendor Development & Management

- Develop and evaluate supplier performance through periodic audits and scorecards.
- Build strategic partnerships with global and local suppliers.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, lead times, and service level agreements.
- Drive vendor rationalization and supplier development initiatives.

Cost Optimization

- Lead cost reduction initiatives through strategic negotiations and value engineering.
- Analyze Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for procurement decisions.
- Work closely with Engineering, R&D;,



and Production teams to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Monitor procurement KPIs and budget adherence.

Import & Logistics Management

- Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, CHA, and logistics partners.
- Ensure compliance with import/export regulations and documentation.
- Monitor shipment schedules, customs clearance, and inventory replenishment.
- Optimize logistics costs and delivery timelines.

Inventory & Production Coordination

- Collaborate with Production Planning, Stores, and Operations teams to ensure material availability.
- Maintain optimum inventory levels while minimizing carrying costs.
- Monitor slow-moving, non-moving, and obsolete inventory.

Compliance & Risk Management

- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Mitigate supply chain risks through alternate sourcing strategies.
- Monitor geopolitical and market risks affecting imports.

Educational Qualification

- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical / Industrial)
- MBA in Supply Chain Management / Operations (Preferred)
- Certification in Procurement or Supply Chain Management (Preferred)

Experience

- 12–18 years of procurement experience.
- Minimum 5 years in a leadership role.
- Experience in fan, motor, electrical equipment, appliance, or manufacturing industry.
- Strong exposure to international sourcing from China, Vietnam, Thailand, and other Asian markets.

Pay: ₹100,000.00 - ₹200,000.00 per month
