Department: Finance, Credit & Risk

Important: Please Read Before Applying

This is not a conventional finance or accounting role.

We are building a new B2B materials supply business and looking for a professional who can build our entire credit and finance function from the ground up.

The role involves onboarding banks and NBFCs onto our platform to provide financing to our customers, developing credit policies and risk-assessment frameworks, and establishing collection SOPs to ensure timely payments.

Where external financing is unavailable or insufficient, you will be responsible for designing a controlled in-house trade credit framework, defining which customers qualify, setting credit limits and repayment terms, and ensuring disciplined collections while protecting the company's working capital.

We are looking for someone who has actually built or managed credit operations—not someone limited to accounting, bookkeeping or financial reporting.

Experience with B2B fintechs, lending platforms, supply-chain finance companies or large B2B marketplaces is strongly preferred. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in lender partnerships, credit underwriting, policy development, collections and team building.

About the Role

We are looking for a commercially minded professional who can establish our credit ecosystem, build financial partnerships and develop a scalable framework for managing customer credit and collections.

Key Responsibilities

1. Banking & NBFC Partnerships

- Identify, negotiate with and onboard banks, NBFCs and eligible financial institutions onto our platform.
- Establish partnerships for working capital, invoice financing, supply-chain finance and other suitable B2B financing products.
- Negotiate partnership terms, customer eligibility criteria, financing limits and operational workflows.
- Coordinate customer referrals, documentation, application processing and lender integrations.
- Develop financing solutions that help eligible customers purchase materials through our platform.

1. Credit Policy & Risk Management

- Build the company's credit policy and risk-assessment framework from scratch.
- Establish customer eligibility criteria, credit scoring parameters, exposure limits, repayment terms and approval processes.
- Evaluate customer financial statements, GST records, bank statements, business vintage, trade references and payment history.
- Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for customer onboarding, underwriting, credit approvals, limit reviews and account monitoring.
- Create approval matrices and escalation procedures to maintain credit discipline.
- Monitor customer exposure, concentration risks, overdue accounts and early-warning indicators.

1.

In-House Trade Credit

- Develop a controlled company-funded trade credit model for eligible customers who cannot obtain adequate financing through external lenders.
- Define which customers qualify for credit, how much credit they can receive, and what repayment and security conditions apply.
- Establish customer-wise and transaction-wise exposure limits based on creditworthiness, available capital and risk appetite.
- Evaluate financing costs, expected credit losses, collection costs and profitability before approving credit.
- Establish policies for credit periods, payment defaults, order holds and suspension of further supplies.
- Ensure that company-funded credit operates within approved capital limits, contractual safeguards and applicable legal requirements.

1. Collections & Receivables Management

- Develop collection policies and SOPs covering payment reminders, follow-ups, overdue accounts and escalation procedures.
- Establish systems for monitoring receivables, ageing reports, collection efficiency and days sales outstanding (DSO).
- Ensure timely customer payments and maintain disciplined collection practices.
- Work with sales and operations teams to resolve payment disputes and prevent overdue exposure from increasing.
- Create early-warning mechanisms for delayed payments and deteriorating customer credit quality.
- Develop appropriate recovery procedures for overdue and defaulted accounts.

1. Finance & Working Capital

- Develop working-capital plans to support supplier payments, procurement cycles and customer financing.
- Evaluate cash-flow requirements, financing costs and credit utilisation.
- Work with banks and financial institutions to explore suitable business credit facilities and supply-chain financing arrangements.
- Establish transaction-level profitability analysis, including financing costs and customer payment cycles.
- Develop financial controls and reporting systems to support sustainable business growth.

1. Team Building & Process Development

- Recruit and lead professionals across credit underwriting, risk analysis, collections and finance operations as the business grows.
- Build the finance and credit function from the ground up.
- Establish clear responsibilities, performance metrics, reporting structures and approval controls.
- Develop MIS dashboards for credit exposure,

outstanding receivables, overdue payments, defaults and portfolio performance.
- Work with the technology team to automate credit assessment, approval workflows and collection tracking.

Required Experience & Skills
- 2–10 years of experience in credit risk, B2B finance, lending, trade finance, supply-chain finance or commercial credit management.
- Hands-on experience working with banks, NBFCs, fintech companies, lending platforms or B2B marketplaces.
- Experience developing credit policies, underwriting frameworks, customer eligibility criteria and credit limits.
- Practical experience managing collections, receivables and overdue accounts.
- Understanding of working-capital finance, invoice financing, trade credit and B2B payment cycles.
- Strong financial analysis, risk assessment, negotiation and commercial decision-making skills.
- Ability to build teams, establish SOPs and develop processes from scratch.

Preferred Background Candidates with experience in the following businesses will be preferred:
- B2B fintech and digital lending platforms.
- Supply-chain finance and trade finance companies.
- B2B marketplaces offering customer financing.
- Banks and NBFCs with commercial lending or SME credit experience.
- Businesses managing dealer finance, distributor credit or large-ticket B2B transactions.

Experience in construction materials, steel, industrial distribution or other working-capital-intensive businesses will be an added advantage.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

- Banks and NBFCs successfully onboarded.
- Financing availability and turnaround time for eligible customers.
- Quality of credit assessments and adherence to approval policies.
- Collection efficiency, overdue receivables and DSO.
- Credit losses and default rates.
- Profitability and capital efficiency of company-funded trade credit.
- Working-capital utilisation and financing costs.
- Successful recruitment and development of the credit and finance team.

The right candidate should combine financial discipline with commercial thinking, enabling business growth without compromising the company's capital or risk standards.

Compensation & Growth

Competitive compensation based on experience and demonstrated capability, with performance-linked incentives and leadership opportunities as the business scales.

Pay: From ₹1,200,000.00 per year

Benefits

- Flexible schedule
