Role Description The Head of Engineering is a full-time, on-site role based in Ankleshwar, overseeing engineering operations across Cadila’s API manufacturing units. This role is responsible for leading and managing engineering teams, ensuring reliable operation, maintenance, and optimization of plant equipment and infrastructure. The Head of Engineering will plan and execute engineering projects, drive continuous improvement in processes, and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

Daily activities include coordinating cross-functional project work, setting technical direction,



managing budgets and timelines, and resolving complex engineering issues. The role also involves mentoring engineering staff, fostering a culture of innovation, and partnering with production, quality, and R&D; to support manufacturing scale-up and efficiency.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess solid Team Leadership and Team Management skills to guide diverse engineering teams and nurture high performance.
- Candidates should possess robust Engineering Management capabilities to oversee plant engineering, maintenance strategies, and technical standards.
- Candidates should possess solid Project Management skills to plan, execute, and deliver engineering initiatives on time and within budget.
- Candidates should possess relevant Software Development or industrial automation exposure where applicable, especially for process control and monitoring systems.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related discipline) from an accredited institution.
- Significant experience in engineering leadership within pharmaceutical, chemical, or process manufacturing environments.
- Strong knowledge of cGMP, safety regulations, and regulatory compliance for API manufacturing facilities.
- Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, communicate clearly, and make data-driven operational decisions.
- Experience with reliability engineering, preventive and predictive maintenance, and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) is advantageous.
