Summary An exciting leadership opportunity for an experienced AI & Data Science Engineering professional to build and lead an AI and Data Science function for a global technology-driven organization. This role involves defining AI platform strategy, driving Generative AI and Agentic AI initiatives, building scalable AI capabilities, and integrating AI and Data Science into customer-facing products.

The role is ideal for a technology leader with a strong software engineering background, proven experience in applying AI and Data Science through platforms and frameworks, and a track record of building and scaling high-performing teams.

Responsibilities

- Define and drive a unified, platform-centric AI & Data Science strategy, roadmap and governance model
- Own the roadmap for Agentic AI products and AI-driven customer experiences
- Drive Generative AI, Agentic AI, RAG, AI-driven Search & Discovery, NLP and Recommendation Engines
- Build reusable AI, Data Science and agentic components that can be leveraged across products
- Drive production deployment of AI solutions with AI Ops, monitoring, governance, quality controls and Responsible AI practices
- Partner with Engineering, Architecture, Data Platform, Product,



Research and Commercial teams to deliver production-ready AI platforms
- Advise senior leadership on AI and analytics investments and emerging technology opportunities
- Hire, coach, and develop the AI & Data Science team in India and build a strong pipeline of future technical leaders

Requirements

- 15 years of experience in Software Engineering, building enterprise platforms and scalable applications
- Significant engineering leadership experience with a proven track record of building and scaling teams
- Experience defining and implementing AI platform strategy across a large organization
- Proven experience converting AI & Data Science capabilities into scalable platforms and reusable solutions with product and business impact
- Hands-on experience delivering Generative AI and Agentic AI features within commercial, customer-facing products
- Strong expertise in AI Agents, Agentic Workflows, LLMs, Vector Databases, RAG, and NLP
- Robust foundation in Machine Learning / Deep Learning, with practical expertise in Python and SQL and at least one major ML framework such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn
- Strong experience with at least one major cloud platform - AWS / Azure / GCP - along with contemporary AI Ops practices
- Proven experience in people management, hiring, coaching, and performance management
