Role overview:

The Head of Finance & Commercials will lead the Accounts, Finance, and SCM teams across the group’s businesses. The role is responsible for financial control, cash flow planning, procurement, vendor management, and commercial support for projects. The person will build reliable processes and reporting systems while helping business and project teams make timely, commercially sound decisions.

Key responsibilities:

Accounts and finance

- Lead accounting operations, including billing, receivables, payables, reconciliations, and period-end closing.
- Prepare budgets, cash flow forecasts, management reports, and project-wise financial reviews.
- Monitor collections, customer advances, vendor dues, and working capital requirements; highlight risks early and recommend actions.
- Oversee payroll inputs and payment processing in coordination with HR.
- Coordinate statutory compliance, tax filings, audits, and banking requirements with internal teams and external advisers.

• Establish controls for approvals, documentation, and the accuracy and confidentiality of financial data. Supply chain and procurement:
- Lead procurement, sourcing, vendor development, purchase orders, material tracking, and inventory coordination.
- Work with engineering and project teams to plan purchases against approved specifications, budgets, and delivery schedules.
- Negotiate commercial terms with vendors and manage supply risks that may affect project delivery.
- Monitor procurement commitments, material dispatches, and vendor payments in coordination with Finance.




- Improve purchase planning and reporting across projects.

Commercial and team leadership

- Review project costing, pricing, contract terms, payment milestones, and commercial risks during bidding and execution.
- Track project margins, costs to complete, billing milestones, and collections with project and business heads.
- Lead and develop the Accounts, Finance, and SCM teams, with clear responsibilities, review routines, and performance expectations.
- Standardise processes and dashboards to give management timely visibility into cash flow, procurement, and project commercial performance.
- Act as the central point of coordination for commercial matters involving customers, vendors, banks, auditors, and internal stakeholders.

Candidate profile

- Qualification in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related field; CA, CMA, MBA Finance, or equivalent qualified qualification is preferred.
- Proven experience leading finance, accounts, and procurement or SCM functions, preferably in an engineering, automation, EPC, manufacturing, or project-based business.
- Strong understanding of project costing, working capital, cash flow, commercial contracts, and vendor management.
- Experience managing cross-functional teams and establishing practical controls and reporting systems.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and decision-making skills.
