New Delhi

Head – Finance & Retail Operations

Delhi NCR | 6–15 years | Chartered Accountant | Reports directly to the Founders and the CEO of the company

About Deltic

Deltic is the electric mobility brand of Delta Autocorp Limited, an NSE Emerge-listed company with nearly a decade of experience in electric vehicles. We design, manufacture and market electric 2-wheelers and 3-wheelers, supported by 350+ dealers across 25+ states.

The zero-to-one has already happened. We have our own products, engineering and design, two manufacturing facilities, a strong after-sales ecosystem and a growing customer base. What we need now is the leadership team that can take this business to the next level: we have built the foundation, and we are looking for people to build what comes next.

Our mission is to build Deltic into one of the leading electric two- and three-wheeler brands in India, and we are building the scale, systems and governance for the next stage of our journey as a listed company.

The Opportunity

Most Chartered Accountants get to report on a business. This role lets you help build one.

This is not a conventional finance role. You will own the finance function and work with the Founders and the CEO on the financial health of a listed company. You will also take charge of building and running our retail business, including our company-owned, company-operated (COCO) outlets, which are already operating and at an early stage. Our plan is to expand this network rapidly across cities, and you will shape the model from the beginning: its economics, its processes and its expansion.

What you will get

- The chance to take a retail business from an early stage to scale, owning its economics, performance and growth
- A rare listed-company journey: you will be part of an NSE Emerge-listed company as it builds the scale, systems and governance for its next stage, and see the reporting, compliance and investor cycle from the inside
- Direct access to the Founders and the CEO, and a real say in how the company builds its next phase
- Exposure across sales, marketing, product, manufacturing, supply chain and service, as few finance roles offer
- The opportunity to grow with the company into a broader leadership position in the future, including at CXO level. We believe people who create significant value should share in the value they create: long-term rewards, including ESOPs, are meant for those who play a real role in the company's transformation, and are earned through performance

Key Responsibilities

Finance Leadership

Own the finance function with complete accountability for accuracy, timelines and results,

building on the strong accounts foundation already in place.

- Financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, MIS and management reporting, with strong budgetary and expense controls
- Cash-flow and working-capital management, including receivables, payables, inventory and dealer credit control; banking, treasury and funding for the retail expansion; support for fund-raising and strategic initiatives
- Costing and profitability analysis across products, dealers and channels, and target costing with procurement, R&D; and operations
- Finalisation of periodic results, financial statements, balance sheet and annual report, working with statutory and internal auditors, the company secretary and advisors
- Statutory, tax (GST, direct tax) and stock-exchange compliance, disclosures and board reporting for a listed company
- Internal controls, internal audit, risk management and capex and fixed-asset control, with stronger systems and governance for the company's next stage

Business Finance & Commercial Insight

- Go beyond what happened to why it happened and what should be done about it
- Build dashboards and KPIs, identify cost leakages, support pricing decisions, and build business cases and financial models for new initiatives and expansion

Retail Operations (COCO)

Take ownership of the retail business, working with the outlet operations team, providing close oversight and performance monitoring, and building the management structure the network needs as it grows.

- Set clear KPIs for sales, conversion, productivity and store-level profitability, with SOPs, regular reviews and outlet-level P&L; tracking
- Manage store inventory, working capital and expenses with discipline, and fix operational bottlenecks
- Lead the rapid rollout of new outlets, city by city: location evaluation, ROI cases, fit-out, staffing and launch
- Build the retail team and area-management structure needed to run a large network without losing profitability or control

You will understand unit economics inside out: what a store needs to break even, its payback period, the right inventory and manpower, and when a new store makes sense. The objective is rapid growth with discipline: a profitable, scalable retail model, not just more outlets.

You will spend time on the ground at stores rather than managing through reports.

Leadership & Culture

- Work closely with sales, marketing, product, supply chain, service, HR, the dealer network and senior management, and help build a culture of ownership, accountability and financial discipline

What We Are Looking For A qualified CA with approximately 6–15 years of experience, with robust finance and financial-control fundamentals, who does not want to remain confined to a traditional finance role. You will have:

- Experience in management reporting, business finance, working capital and cash flows, with strong analytical and modelling skills
- Commercial acumen and the ability to work with numbers as well as people, including frontline teams
- Experience in retail, consumer, automotive, EV, distribution or other operationally intensive businesses, a multi-location business, a listed company or a growing SME, which would be valuable but is not mandatory
- The ability to build systems and processes rather than merely operate them

More importantly, we are looking for the mindset: entrepreneurial, hands-on and curious about the business; comfortable with ambiguity; willing to take ownership beyond the conventional ; and driven to do something bigger than a conventional finance career. Above all, you work with complete accountability: you own your results and do not wait to be chased.

We are looking for someone who can sit in a finance review in the morning, visit a store in the afternoon, analyse its economics in the evening and come back with ideas to improve the business.

If your ambition is simply to become a conventional Finance Head managing accounts, audit and compliance, this may not be the right opportunity. If you are a CA who wants to understand how a business is actually built, this could be a very interesting one.

What Success Looks Like

- Accurate, timely monthly closes and MIS, clean audits and no compliance lapses
- Healthy cash flow and tight control of receivables, inventory and working capital
- Clear profitability visible by product, dealer and store
- A retail network that expands rapidly with proven unit economics, every outlet on track to its break-even and payback targets

How to Apply

Please email your profile, along with a short note (5–6 lines) on a time you went beyond your finance role to build, fix or run something in the business: the situation, what you did, and the result. Send it to the following:
