Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Gas Pipeline Engineer to support the execution and supervision of gas pipeline projects. The candidate should have hands-on experience in gas pipeline construction, installation, testing, commissioning, and site coordination.

Candidates who are local to Kolkata or West Bengal will be preferred. Fluency in Bengali is mandatory for effective communication with local workforce, contractors, vendors, and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise and coordinate gas pipeline construction and installation activities at project sites.
- Monitor pipeline laying, trenching, excavation, jointing, welding, lowering, backfilling, and associated civil works.
- Coordinate with site supervisors, welders, fitters, subcontractors, vendors, and local workforce.
- Ensure pipeline construction is carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and project schedules.
- Review and interpret pipeline alignment drawings, isometric drawings, P&IDs;, construction drawings, and technical documents.
- Monitor pipeline welding, joint inspection, NDT, coating, and related quality-control activities.
- Coordinate activities related to hydrotesting, pneumatic testing, flushing, purging, leak testing, and commissioning as applicable.
- Monitor material availability and ensure proper utilization of pipes, fittings, valves, welding consumables, and other project materials.
- Coordinate with civil and mechanical teams for crossings, road crossings, utility crossings, valve installations, and pipeline supports.
- Maintain daily progress reports, site records, inspection reports, and material requirements.
- Identify site issues and coordinate with senior management/client representatives for timely resolution.
- Ensure compliance with HSE requirements, work permits, safety procedures, and quality standards.




- Coordinate with local authorities, contractors, landowners, and other stakeholders whenever required.
- Monitor manpower productivity and ensure work is completed within the planned schedule.

Required Qualifications
- B.Tech / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or related discipline.
- 3–7 years of relevant experience in gas pipeline, oil & gas, EPC, CGD, or pipeline construction projects.
- Hands-on experience in gas pipeline construction and site execution.
- Bengali language proficiency is mandatory.
- Candidates from Kolkata / West Bengal or currently residing in West Bengal will be preferred.
- Good knowledge of pipeline construction practices, drawings, welding, testing, and commissioning.
- Ability to coordinate and manage site workforce and subcontractors.
- Good communication, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to travel to project locations as required.

- City Gas Distribution (CGD) projects
- Natural gas pipeline projects
- MDPE / HDPE pipeline networks
- Steel gas pipelines
- Pipeline laying and construction
- Gas pipeline welding and jointing
- Hydrotesting / pneumatic testing
- Valve installation and commissioning
- Road, railway, and utility crossings
- Pipeline trenching and reinstatement
- Oil & gas EPC projects
- Experience working with local contractors and manpower
