Art Sales & Gallery Intern – Chennai

Location: InKo Centre, Chennai

Dates: 10 December 2026 – 15 January 2027

Timing: The Gallery @ InKo Centre is open from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. It remains closed on Sundays and published holidays.

Stipend: ₹15,000 for the full duration, inclusive of local travel

MeMeraki is looking for an Art Sales & Gallery Intern to represent us on-ground during PARAMPARA: Pichwai’s Past, Present and Future , our Pichwai exhibition at the InKo Centre in Chennai.

This is a customer-facing role for someone who is confident speaking to people, interested in Indian art, and comfortable with both art storytelling and sales .

Responsibilities

- Be present at the exhibition and manage the MeMeraki sales desk.
- Welcome visitors and show them around the exhibition.
- Learn about the artworks, artists and Pichwai tradition and explain them confidently to visitors.
- Understand visitor requirements and recommend relevant artworks.




- Handle sales enquiries and support customers interested in purchasing artworks.
- Collect details of interested visitors and potential buyers.
- Maintain an organised record of all enquiries and leads.
- Promptly forward qualified leads and follow-up requirements to the MeMeraki sales team.
- Coordinate with the MeMeraki team regarding artwork availability, pricing and customer queries.
- Ensure visitors have a warm, knowledgeable and qualified experience of the exhibition.

Who we're looking for
- Based in Chennai and available for the full duration from 10 December to 15 January.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Confident approaching and engaging with visitors.
- Interest in Indian art, design, culture or heritage .
- Comfortable with sales and following up on customer enquiries.
- Responsible, organised and proactive.
- Students/recent graduates from Fine Arts, Art History, Design, Architecture, Interior Design, Cultural Studies, Marketing or related fields are encouraged to apply.
- Previous experience in sales, exhibitions, galleries, retail or customer-facing roles is a plus.
