About WorkElate

WorkElate is building an AI native Work OS with a shared organisational brain across everyday office applications. Our goal is to turn intent, knowledge and decisions into coordinated execution while keeping people in control of consequential actions.

The role

We are looking for technically strong, research oriented engineers who enjoy investigating hard problems and building dependable software. You will work on AI systems, office applications or their intersection, taking ideas from experiments to features people can use in their daily work.

What you will do

1. Design and build AI driven workflows across documents, spreadsheets, slides, mail, calendar and tasks.
2. Investigate models, retrieval, memory and tool execution, or build structured editing, collaboration and import and export capabilities
3. Compare approaches through reproducible experiments; measure quality, latency, cost and failure behaviour.
4. Build reliable APIs and application logic with validation, permissions, approval controls, retries, audit trails and recovery.
5. Work with product and engineering to ship features,



debug real problems and improve usability.

What we are looking for Solid programming in Javascript; solid understanding of APIs, databases, data structures, debugging and testing.

Hands on depth in either LLM applications and evaluation, or complex web applications such as editors, spreadsheets or collaborative tools.

Evidence of research thinking: a well investigated project, experiments, open source contributions or a technical writeup. A research degree is optional.

Ability to explain tradeoffs, question assumptions and take ownership from problem discovery through delivery.

Useful additional experience

React and Node.js; retrieval and agent systems; document formats; spreadsheet engines; real time collaboration; distributed systems; observability; or evaluating AI output quality. You do not need experience in every area.
