Job Title: Video Editor & Trailer Cutter – Short Film Promo & Reels (Freelance)

We are looking for a creative, detail-oriented Video Editor to cut the official promotional trailer and social media promo videos for an upcoming narrative short film.

If you have a solid grasp of dramatic pacing, audio design, hook building for short-form content, and rhythm-based editing, we would love to see your work.

Scope of Work & Deliverables

1. Official Teaser / Trailer Cut (16:9 Landscape):

Main Trailer (60–90 seconds): Narrative-driven cut designed to build suspense/interest, featuring custom sound design, dialogue beats, and title cards.
1. Short-Form Promotional Suite (9:16 Vertical for IG Reels / YouTube Shorts):

3–4 High-Hook Reels (15–30 seconds each): Character intros, dialogue snippets, key dramatic moments, or behind-the-scenes teasers optimized for social media engagement.
1. Formats & Delivery:

High-definition exports optimized for YouTube (16:9) and Instagram Reels / Shorts (9:16). Audio mix with balanced dialogue, background score, and sound effects (SFX).

Key Responsibilities

- Review raw footage selects, movie audio stems, and project assets provided by the director.
- Construct a tight,



engaging narrative arc for the trailer using cinematic pacing and sound design.
- Edit fast-paced, high-retention short-form reels with dynamic text/captions where required.
- Perform basic audio leveling, music synchronization, and noise reduction.
- Implement up to 2 rounds of director feedback for final cuts.

Requirements

- Proven experience in cutting film trailers, movie promos, music videos, or high- engagement social media reels (portfolio required).
- Proficiency in CapCut, Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or Final Cut Pro.
- Strong understanding of sound editing, rise/impact SFX, and beat sync.
- Ability to craft strong hooks within the first 3 seconds for short-form videos.
- Good communication skills and ability to hit tight promotional release deadlines.
