" Understand what we’re trying to build, help figure out what it needs and work with people to make it happen. "

This is your core direction.

About Disblur

Disblur Foundation is an early-stage organisation working to bring the human perspective of our world into focus. Through documentaries, interviews, publications, workshops and conversations, we explore different perspectives to encourage curiosity, learning and deeper understanding.

We’re building our team and ways of working, with room for you to contribute, learn and grow alongside us. Know more at disblur.com/foundation.

About the role

We’re looking for a curious, organised person who enjoys understanding ideas, connecting with people and figuring things out. You’ll work closely with our founder across the everyday work of building Disblur. Research, communication and coordination will be your starting points.

As projects develop, you may also support production, events, applications, outreach and other activities we discover along the way. An important part of the role is understanding the founder’s thinking and communicating it clearly to others. You’ll make calls, ask questions, explain ideas, follow up and bring back feedback so everyone understands what needs to happen next.

You won’t be expected to know everything from the beginning. We’ll agree on priorities, provide guidance and develop your responsibilities around the organisation’s needs and your growing strengths.

What you’ll do

- Research and explore: Investigate questions, funding opportunities, government grants, organisations and potential collaborators. Check sources and turn findings into clear, useful notes.
- Communicate with people: Make calls, write emails, arrange conversations and follow up.

Help explain our ideas accurately and understand what others need from us.
- Support planning: Turn discussions into practical steps, organise tasks and keep track of decisions and deadlines.
- Keep the team connected: Gather updates, document next steps and coordinate with teammates and collaborators so work moves forward.
- Help with production and events: Support interviews, documentary shoots, workshops and other activities through preparation, arrangements and on-the-ground assistance.
- Prepare documents: Help with meeting notes, presentations, project briefs and initial drafts of proposals or applications for review.
- Support everyday organisation: Maintain contact lists, shared documents, schedules and basic expense records.
- Help share our work: Gather material and assist with occasional social media updates, simple drafts and scheduling approved posts.

The mix of work will change as Disblur develops. New responsibilities will be discussed with you, with clear priorities and support as you learn.

Who we’re looking for

You listen carefully, ask useful questions and can explain what you’ve understood in simple language. You’re comfortable approaching people and willing to take responsibility for the practical details that help work happen.

We’d like to work with you if you can:

- Take initiative and follow through on agreed tasks.
- Communicate thoughtfully through calls, messages and emails.
- Research carefully and distinguish facts from assumptions.

- Stay organised while handling different kinds of work.
- Adapt when plans change and communicate difficulties early.
- Recognise when to act independently and when to ask for guidance.
- Use documents, spreadsheets, calendars and task-management tools.
- Bring curiosity about people, creative work, education and new possibilities.

Early-career applicants and recent graduates are welcome. Relevant experience can come from college activities, volunteering, independent projects or employment. Experience in research, branding, marketing, content production, events or coordination would be helpful.

A particular degree or film industry background isn’t essential. We’re interested in how you think, communicate and take responsibility.

Working with us

You’ll report directly to the founder and work alongside the Projects & Partnerships Lead and other collaborators. We’ll agree on what needs your attention, review progress regularly and give you context for the work you take on.

This is an ongoing role with opportunities to build skills across different parts of a creative organisation and take on greater responsibility over time.

Salary and working arrangements

- Employment: Full-time.
- Salary: ₹22,000 per month (₹2.64 lakh per annum) + upto 2% quarterly increment based on select criteria.
- Probation: One month, paid at the agreed salary, with clear expectations and a review together at the end.
- Working hours: Agreed before joining, including weekly time off and arrangements for occasional project work outside regular hours.
- Travel: Some project-related travel may be required and will be discussed in advance.
- Expenses: Approved work travel and project expenses covered separately.
