We are looking for a Fleet IT & Communications Manager - a maritime IT professional who owns vessel IT, satellite communications and cyber security across an entire fleet, shore-side.

Our client is an established international ship management group, built from the DNA of the shipping industry and operating through offices in Hong Kong, Dubai, Cyprus and India. The company runs a client-centric, transparent operating model: direct senior accountability, disciplined technical execution, transparent procurement, clear financial reporting and strong HSQE control. Its scope covers full ship management, dry dock management, newbuilding supervision, procurement, financial reporting, insurance and claims support, commercial coordination and crewing oversight across a dry bulk fleet.

You own fleet IT end to end: the onboard IT infrastructure, satellite communications and cyber security of every vessel, plus the shore-side support that keeps ships connected and compliant. This is a hands-on maritime IT role, not a corporate help-desk or single-office IT position - you work across the whole fleet and carry real responsibility for uptime, security and the cost of connectivity. Reporting to the QMS Director.

Key Responsibilities

- Own vessel IT infrastructure and ship-to-shore connectivity across the full fleet - availability, performance and troubleshooting.
- Manage satellite communications end to end: VSAT, L-band and LEO (Starlink maritime) systems, airtime contracts and connectivity providers.
- Lead maritime cyber security across the fleet - risk management, onboard controls, incident response and compliance (IMO 2021, IACS UR E26/E27, TMSA).
- Provide fleet-wide IT support to vessels and shore offices,



including onboard software and hardware lifecycle.
- Optimize connectivity and IT costs - renegotiate airtime and vendor contracts, consolidate providers, reduce spend without losing coverage.
- Standardize IT and communications setup across new and existing vessels, including supervision during newbuilding and takeover.
- Work with technical, HSQE and crewing teams to keep IT aligned with operational and compliance needs.

What We're Looking For
- A strong maritime IT background - hands-on experience managing IT and communications across a fleet of vessels, shore-side (essential, not negotiable).
- Direct experience with marine satellite communications - VSAT / FleetBroadband / Starlink maritime - and with connectivity providers such as Marlink, Speedcast, KVH or similar.
- Practical knowledge of maritime cyber security and the relevant regulatory framework (IMO 2021 cyber risk management, IACS UR E26/E27, TMSA cyber).
- Experience managing vendor contracts and driving down IT / airtime costs across a fleet.
- Fluent English, comfortable coordinating between ship, shore and multiple international offices.
- Based in and able to work on-site from Mumbai.
