Fine Jewellery CAD Designer

Job Summary

We are looking for a Fine Jewellery Designer with a strong understanding of jewellery design, gemstones, stone placement, setting techniques and production. The ideal candidate should combine a refined design sensibility with technical knowledge of how fine jewellery is constructed and embellished.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop original fine jewellery concepts across rings, earrings, necklaces, bracelets and other categories.
- Translate creative direction into sketches, detailed design drawings and jewellery specifications.
- Develop stone layouts and embellishment techniques, considering stone size, cut, colour, proportion, spacing and overall composition.
- Design with an understanding of different setting techniques including pavé, micro-pavé, prong/claw, bezel, channel, flush and other decorative stone-setting methods. These setting choices affect both the appearance and manufacturability of a piece.
- Select and combine gemstones, diamonds, pearls and other materials appropriate to the design.
- Develop stone maps and clearly communicate stone sizes, shapes, quantities and placement to CAD and production teams.
- Work closely with CAD designers, stone setters, artisans and production teams from initial concept through sampling and final execution.
- Review CADs and prototypes to ensure the final piece maintains the intended proportions,



stone composition and design language.
- Understand jewellery construction sufficiently to ensure designs are practical, wearable and production-feasible.
- Research new gemstone combinations, setting styles, surface treatments and fine jewellery techniques.

Requirements
- 2–5 years of experience in fine jewellery or high jewellery design.
- Solid understanding of gemstones, diamonds, stone cuts, proportions and jewellery composition.
- Strong knowledge of stone embellishment and setting techniques, including pavé, micro-pavé, prong, bezel, channel and flush settings.
- Ability to create detailed stone layouts / stone maps and understand how different stone sizes and shapes can be composed across a jewellery surface.
- Knowledge of precious metals, jewellery construction, casting and finishing processes.
- Strong hand-sketching and digital design skills.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and/or Procreate.
- Working knowledge of Rhino, MatrixGold or other jewellery CAD software is an advantage.
- Strong eye for proportion, detail, colour and composition.
- Ability to communicate effectively with CAD designers, stone setters and production teams.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating fine jewellery design and gemstone-led work is required.

Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
