Position: Financial Controller

Reports to: Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to own the company's financial reporting, controllership, and compliance function. This role is critical to ensuring accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial data, while partnering closely with the Group CFO on strategic financial decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting & Controllership

- Own the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements
- Ensure compliance with Ind AS / IFRS and statutory reporting requirements
- Prepare and present MIS reports, board decks, and financial performance summaries to the Group CFO and leadership team
- Maintain a robust internal controls framework and drive continuous improvement in financial processes

Compliance & Audit

- Manage statutory, tax, and internal audits end-to-end; act as primary liaison with auditors
- Ensure compliance with Companies Act, Income Tax, GST, and other applicable regulatory requirements
- Oversee SOX/internal financial controls (IFC) documentation and testing, if applicable

Accounting Operations

- Supervise general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, fixed assets, and treasury functions
- Ensure accurate cost accounting and inventory valuation (relevant for a manufacturing/retail business)
- Drive standardization and automation of accounting processes across entities/locations

Business Partnering

- Partner with the Group CFO on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis




- Support fundraising, banking relationships, and working capital management
- Provide financial insights to support pricing, cost control, and profitability decisions
- Work closely with cross-functional teams (Sales, Supply Chain, HR) to ensure financial discipline

Team Leadership

- Lead, mentor, and build a high-performing finance and accounts team
- Set clear KPIs, drive accountability, and support capability development within the team

Requirements:

Qualifications:

- Chartered Accountant (CA) mandatory; CS/CMA a plus

Experience:

- 10–15 years of progressive experience in financial controllership, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership/managerial capacity
- Prior experience in a manufacturing, retail, or consumer lifestyle/furniture industry preferred
- Experience working in a company with multiple business units/locations is an advantage
- Exposure to ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) required

- Strong technical accounting knowledge (Ind AS, taxation, statutory compliance)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Robust communication skills to work effectively with the Group CFO and senior leadership
- High ownership mindset with ability to work independently in a fast-scaling environment
- Proven people management and team-building capability
