Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Fire & Gas (F&G;) Engineer to design, develop, and coordinate fire and gas detection systems for industrial projects, particularly in Oil & Gas, EPC, offshore, and petrochemical sectors. The candidate should have experience in F&G; system design, detector layout, safety standards, and engineering documentation.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and develop Fire & Gas detection systems for industrial and Oil & Gas projects.
- Prepare F&G; detector layout drawings, system architecture diagrams, and hook-up drawings.
- Perform gas detector coverage studies and detector placement assessments.
- Select suitable fire and gas detectors based on project requirements and applicable standards.
- Prepare cause-and-effect charts, logic diagrams, and F&G; system specifications.
- Coordinate with instrumentation, electrical, process, safety, and control system engineering teams.
- Review vendor drawings, technical specifications, and engineering documents.
- Support preparation of material take-offs (MTOs), datasheets, and technical requisitions.
- Ensure compliance with relevant international standards and project specifications.
- Participate in design reviews, HAZOP/HAZID, and safety studies as required.
- Support installation, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of F&G; systems.

Required Qualifications
- Diploma or bachelor's degree in Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrical, or a related engineering discipline.




- 3–10 years of relevant experience in Fire & Gas engineering or industrial safety systems.
- Experience in Oil & Gas, petrochemical, offshore, power, or EPC projects.
- Knowledge of fire and gas detection system design and engineering deliverables.

Technical Skills
- Knowledge of fire and gas detectors, including flame, smoke, heat, toxic gas, and combustible gas detectors.
- Experience with detector layout drawings and gas detection coverage studies.
- Understanding of F&G; system architecture, input/output (I/O) lists, and cause-and-effect matrices.
- Familiarity with DCS, PLC, ESD, and Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS).
- Knowledge of relevant standards such as IEC 60079, IEC 61508, IEC 61511, NFPA standards, and project-specific requirements.
- Ability to review P&IDs;, instrument index, datasheets, and technical specifications.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and engineering documentation tools.

- Experience with F&G; system integration, FAT, SAT, and commissioning activities.
- Exposure to international EPC projects and client design reviews.
