About the Role

Mermaid Boutique is looking for an experienced Bridal Boutique Designer with strong practical knowledge of bridal blouse designing, custom stitching, garment fitting and tailoring-unit coordination.

We specialize in customized bridal blouses, bridal wear and designer outfits. We are looking for a professional who understands the complete process from customer consultation and measurements to stitching supervision, fitting corrections, quality checking and final delivery.

This position is strictly for candidates with relevant, hands-on boutique experience. Freshers and candidates with only theoretical fashion-design knowledge are not suitable for this role.

Key Responsibilities

- Independently handle customer consultations and understand individual design requirements.
- Take accurate body measurements and identify fitting requirements.
- Design and customize bridal blouses, designer blouses and other custom outfits.
- Demonstrate robust practical knowledge of blouse construction, pattern requirements, garment fit and finishing.
- Advise customers on suitable designs, fabrics, necklines, sleeves, back patterns, embellishments and handwork.
- Explain design details clearly to customers and coordinate design finalization.
- Communicate stitching requirements accurately to cutting masters and tailors.
- Supervise stitching progress, identify construction or fitting issues, and guide the team on necessary corrections.
- Conduct trial fittings, assess garment fit and coordinate alterations.
- Coordinate with handworkers and finishing staff wherever required.
- Monitor multiple orders, maintain production records and follow delivery schedules.
- Conduct quality checks to ensure that completed garments meet Mermaid Boutique's standards.

Mandatory Skills & Experience
- Minimum 3 years of relevant, hands-on experience in a bridal boutique or custom-stitching environment.
- Strong practical expertise in bridal blouse designing and construction.
- Ability to take measurements accurately and understand garment fitting and alterations.
- Working knowledge of fabrics, linings, interlinings, embroidery, handwork and finishing.
- Ability to identify stitching mistakes and communicate corrections to tailors.




- Experience coordinating with cutting masters and tailoring teams.
- Confidence in handling bridal customers and managing multiple orders independently.
- Good communication, problem-solving and time-management skills.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience handling bridal orders from consultation through final delivery.
- Knowledge of Kerala and South Indian bridal styles.
- Ability to visualize designs, prepare sketches or communicate construction details clearly.
- Previous experience in a boutique with an in-house tailoring unit.

- Shop hours: 10:00 AM – 7:30 PM

- Probation Period: The initial probation period will be one month.
- Performance Evaluation:



Candidates will be evaluated based on their practical skills, work quality, customer handling, technical knowledge and ability to meet Mermaid Boutique's requirements.
- Employment Confirmation: Confirmation of employment will depend on satisfactory performance during the probation period.
- Non-Confirmation: If a candidate fails to meet the required skill level or performance standards, employment may be discontinued in accordance with the agreed employment terms and applicable law.
- Salary During Probation: Salary will be determined based on the candidate's demonstrated skills and relevant experience and mutually agreed upon before joining.
