Engineer (Production , Machine Shop)

A. Key Roles & Responsibilities

- Execute daily production activities for CNC, VMC, Turning, Drilling, Tapping and Grinding operations.
- Ensure shift production targets are met with required quality and cost parameters.
- Support Assistant Manager/Manager in production planning, tool readiness and manpower allocation.
- Implement SOPs, Control Plans, PFMEA, Work Instructions, 5S and Safety standards.
- Assist in continuous improvement initiatives including cycle-time reduction, SMED and OEE improvement.
- Coordinate with PPC, QA, Tool Room, Maintenance and Standards Room for resource availability.

B. List of Responsibilities
- Execute shift-wise production plan provided by PPC.
- Verify job setup: fixtures, tools, offsets, clamps, CNC/VMC programs.
- Conduct First Piece Approval (FPA) and document in-process checks as per Control Plan.
- Monitor machining parameters including speed, feed, depth of cut and coolant flow.
- Identify machining defects such as oversize/undersize, taper, burrs and correct them promptly.




- Support fixture changeover activities and help in setup time reduction (SMED).
- Track tool wear, assist in optimizing tool life and reduce tooling cost.
- Maintain CNC/VMC program backups and support prove-outs for recent jobs.
- Maintain daily production logs, downtime sheets and rejection reports.
- Ensure compliance to safety rules, PPE usage and maintain 5S across the machine shop.
- Support NPD, PPAP and FAI machining trials. -Ensure to adherence of QMS & EHS procedures & compliances.

C. Knowledge &

Experience

- 2 to 6 years experience in CNC/VMC machining or machine shop production.
- Knowledge of machining processes, cutting tools, feeds/speeds and coolant systems.
- Understanding of GD&T;, CTQs, SPC basics and part drawings interpretation.
- Hands-on experience with measuring instruments like Vernier, micrometer, height gauge and bore gauge.
- Basic experience in ERP/SAP/ODOO for production entries.
- Diploma/Degree in Mechanical, Production, Industrial or Mechatronics Engineering.
