Energy Modeller Power Markets & Quantitative Modelling- 3 Years -Gurugram
We are hiring an Energy Modeller to join a high-performing modelling team focused on Asia-Pacific power markets. This role is ideal for an experienced Energy Modeller / Quantitative Analyst who combines strong analytical and programming skills with an interest in energy markets, mathematical modelling, and emerging AI technologies.
Location- Gurugram, India

Responsibilities
1. Lead the development of model features that capture complex energy market dynamics.
2. Design new modelling approaches using expert knowledge of power markets.
3. Work closely with research and advisory teams to derive insights from model outputs.
4. Develop and deliver robust, high-quality modelling software for internal and external users.
5. Continuously improve modelling processes and explore opportunities to leverage AI in workflows.
6. Lead modelling development projects and contribute to the evolution of modelling methodologies.
7. Manage and mentor junior team members and support their professional development.
8. Apply quantitative and analytical techniques to solve complex energy-market problems.
9. Contribute to modelling activities focused on Asia-Pacific power markets.
Requirements
Essential
1. Relevant degree in a quantitative discipline such as: Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Economics
2. Minimum 2 years of experience in model development or software development, preferably in a commercial workplace.
3. Strong knowledge of at least one programming language, such as:
- Python
- MATLAB
- C++
- R
- Java
1. Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
Good to Have
1. PhD in a relevant field.
2. Experience with mathematical optimisation, including:
- Linear Programming
- Dynamic Programming
- Mixed-Integer Programming (MIP)
1. Experience developing power market models.
2. Prior people-management or mentoring experience.
3. Strong interest and understanding of power markets.
4. Interest in applying modern AI technologies to modelling and analytical workflows.
