Role Overview

As an Entertainment News Editor

, you will oversee the editorial workflow for U.S. entertainment coverage across celebrities, movies, television, streaming platforms, pop culture, viral entertainment trends, and breaking Hollywood news.

The role involves editing and publishing content in real time, guiding writers, maintaining editorial quality, identifying high-performing story angles, and ensuring timely coverage aligned with U.S. hours.

The ideal candidate should have strong editorial judgement, deep familiarity with the U.S. entertainment landscape, experience working in rapid-paced digital newsrooms, and the ability to manage content performance under tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

- Edit 15–17 entertainment news articles per day across multiple entertainment categories.
- Edit, proofread,



and publish entertainment news articles across multiple categories
- Manage editorial workflows during breaking news cycles and viral entertainment moments
- Review articles for accuracy, tone, structure, SEO, and publishing quality
- Coordinate with writers to assign stories, provide feedback, and maintain output quality
- Identify trending entertainment conversations and prioritise high-performing story angles
- Monitor celebrity news, social media trends, streaming releases, industry developments, and viral pop culture moments
- Ensure timely publishing aligned with U.S. hours
- Optimise headlines, metadata, and content packaging for audience engagement
- Maintain editorial consistency and publishing standards across all content
- Work closely with leadership and content teams to improve traffic performance

Required Qualifications

- 2+ years of experience in digital editing, entertainment journalism, or editorial roles.
- Strong understanding of the U.S. entertainment industry, celebrity culture, movies, television, streaming platforms, and pop culture trends
- Strong editorial judgement and news sense
- Experience editing and publishing digital content
- Ability to manage multiple writers and deadlines simultaneously
- Experience working in real-time newsroom environments
- Familiarity with WordPress, CMS workflows, and publishing operations
- Must be comfortable working night shifts aligned with U.S. hours (10 PM – 7 AM IST)

Preferred Skills ● Strong understanding of SEO, Google Discover, and audience engagement strategies

●Experience editing and publishing entertainment content in a fast-paced digital newsroom environment

●Ability to identify high-performing story angles and manage breaking entertainment news efficiently

●Familiarity with WordPress, CMS workflows, and real-time publishing operations
