Job Overview

We are seeking an energetic and organized Dispatch Supervisor cum Trainee to manage outgoing shipments and streamline finished goods logistics. This hybrid role combines hands-on training on dispatch operations, inventory management, and transport scheduling with progressive supervisory responsibilities over warehouse loading and logistics compliance.

As a trainee supervisor, you will work closely with supply chain, production, and quality teams to ensure that finished steel products (pipes, structures, raw materials) are safely loaded, properly documented, and dispatched on schedule to meet customer demands.

Key Responsibilities

Dispatch Planning & Coordination

- Assist in scheduling daily loading plans based on sales orders, delivery deadlines, and transport availability.
- Coordinate with external transport vendors, freight forwarders, and vehicle drivers for timely truck placement.
- Monitor truck weighbridge operations (gross weight, tare weight, and net weight verification) to prevent overloading.

Warehouse & Inventory Monitoring

- Track finished goods inventory in the yard/warehouse to ensure items are ready and staged for loading.
- Oversee material handling equipment operators (cranes, forklifts) during loading to prevent product damage.
- Maintain accurate stock records, daily dispatch logs, and physical stock reconciliation reports.





Documentation & System Entry

- Prepare critical shipping documents, including Delivery Challans, Invoices, Packing Lists, e-Way Bills, and Gate Passes.
- Verify material heat numbers, bundle tags, test certificates (MTC), and piece counts against dispatch advice before release.
- Update dispatch status and inventory records in the companys ERP system (SAP/Oracle/Tally).

Supervision & Plant Safety

- Direct and supervise floor loaders, riggers, and yard staff during shift operations.
- Enforce strict shop-floor and yard safety rules, ensuring correct strapping, lashing, and securing of cargo on vehicles.
- Handle initial resolution of dispatch delays, documentation discrepancies, or damaged goods reporting.

Key Qualifications & Skills

- Education: Bachelors Degree or Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Commerce, Mechanical Engineering, or Business Administration.
- Experience: Fresh graduate or 02 years of hands-on experience in yard management, dispatch, or warehouse logistics (steel/heavy industrial manufacturing experience preferred).

- Technical Knowledge:
- Basic knowledge of dispatch documentation (e-Way bills, challans, gate passes).
- Familiarity with inventory tracking and ERP software (SAP, Oracle, or MS Excel).
- Basic understanding of truck capacities, loading patterns, and material handling safety

- Key Competencies:
- Solid organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills to handle drivers and transport agents.
- Leadership capability to guide yard workers and loaders on the shift.
