Role Description The Director at Stichting Bouw met respect will provide strategic, operational, and financial leadership for the organization in an on-site capacity based in Kolkata. This full-time role includes defining long-term vision and goals, overseeing program planning and delivery, and ensuring alignment with the foundation’s mission and values.

The Director will manage budgets, supervise staff, coordinate with partners and stakeholders, and ensure compliance with relevant policies, regulations, and governance standards. Daily responsibilities include monitoring project progress, reviewing reports, making data-informed decisions, and representing the organization in meetings, events, and community engagements. The Director will also drive fundraising initiatives, maintain key relationships, and foster a collaborative, respectful, and inclusive work environment.

Qualifications

- Demonstrated leadership and management experience in a nonprofit, social impact, or related organizational setting.
- Robust strategic planning, decision-making, and problem-solving skills to guide programs and operations.




- Proficiency in financial oversight, including budgeting, resource allocation, and basic financial reporting.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities for working with staff, partners, and communities.
- Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills in English; proficiency in local languages is an advantage.
- Experience in project or program management, including setting goals, tracking progress, and evaluating outcomes.
- Proven ability to build and lead diverse teams, mentor staff, and support professional development.
- Background or strong interest in community development, social responsibility, construction-related initiatives, or sustainable practices is beneficial.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in management, social sciences, public administration, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Ability to work on-site in Kolkata on a full-time basis and occasionally travel for meetings or project visits.
