Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Data & Business Intelligence Specialist to support the development of a Digital Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) System for the SLPI Phase II project. The candidate will be responsible for data modelling, indicator calculations, aggregation logic, interactive dashboard development, reporting, and basic GIS visualization to support data-driven decision-making and performance monitoring across operational landscapes.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

- Design and implement data models, indicator calculations, and aggregation logic aligned with the finalized SLPI Phase II Results Framework (Logframe).
- Develop data aggregation and reporting processes to monitor project performance, outcomes, and impact indicators across operational landscapes.
- Implement basic GIS visualization, including landscape boundaries, project locations, geographic data layers, and spatial representations of project indicators.
- Support the integration of geographic data with dashboards and analytical reports.
- Work with PostgreSQL databases and SQL queries to extract, transform, aggregate, and manage data for reporting and visualization.
- Collaborate with the Senior MEL Expert, Business Analyst, and software development team to ensure that dashboards and reports meet project monitoring requirements.




- Ensure dashboards are user-friendly, responsive, and designed to support different user roles and information-access permissions.
- Conduct data quality checks, troubleshoot reporting discrepancies, and maintain documentation of data models, calculations, and dashboard functionalities.
- Support user testing, dashboard validation, documentation, and training for relevant project stakeholders.

Required Skills and Experience

- Minimum 5 years of skilled experience in data modelling, indicator calculations, aggregation logic, reporting, and interactive dashboard development.
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, Geography, GIS, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Proven experience developing dashboards with filters, drill-down analysis, target comparisons, trend analysis, and role-based access controls.
- Practical experience in basic geospatial visualization, including landscape boundaries, project locations, and map layers.
- Hands-on experience with BI and visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent platforms.
- Ability to translate complex datasets into clear, meaningful visualizations and actionable insights.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with GIS tools such as QGIS, ArcGIS, Leaflet, or equivalent mapping technologies.
- Familiarity with spatial datasets, geographic boundaries, and map-layer integration.
- Experience supporting Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) systems, Results-Based Management (RBM), or Logframe-based reporting.
- Experience working on international development projects, sustainable landscapes, environmental programmes, natural resource management, or multi-stakeholder initiatives.
