What you will own
Outreach and partnerships
- Build and own a pipeline of companies across startups, MNCs, NGOs, and government for live student projects and collaborations.
- Onboard sponsors for events and programs; negotiate what each side gives and gets.
- Bring in speakers, founders in residence, and mentors; own the relationship from first contact to onboarding.
- Sign and manage institutional partnerships (for example with venture firms and developer communities).
IP and event building
- Co-plan and build Vedam's signature IPs and marquee events end to end, from concept to execution.
- Source the right external inputs for every event and plan: speakers, judges, sponsors, company visits, immersions, incubator connects, and excursions.
- Work closely with the on-ground program managers and campus teams so that plans have the contacts and industry access they need to land well.
Community and credibility
- Build Vedam's standing in the tech and startup community; grow our network and optics.
- Represent Vedam to companies, founders, investors, and community leaders in a way that lifts our credibility.
Prospect sourcing
- Continuously scout opportunities for students: internships, live projects, accelerators and incubators, competitions, and immersions.
- Scope the possibility of collaborations by understanding both the tech and the business behind them.
What we are looking for
- 2 to 5 years in partnerships, business development, community, events, or a founder or operator background.
- Strong grasp of the tech and deep tech industry. You can hold a real conversation with an engineer, a founder, and an investor.
- Proactive and communicative. You open doors and follow up until things close.
- End-to-end thinker and doer. You can plan, pitch, and execute without being told every step.
- Adaptive and quick on your feet. You can juggle many relationships and move fast.
- A real network in the startup and tech ecosystem, or the ability to build one quickly. NCR presence is a plus.
What success looks like in year one
- A full pipeline of partner companies, with at least a handful of live student projects signed and delivered.
- Sponsors and partners secured for the national hackathon and the fests.
- A founder in residence and a steady flow of quality speakers on campus.
- On-ground teams consistently equipped with the contacts and industry access they need.
