Child Nutritionist – Infant & Pediatric Nutrition

About Hoola Health

Hoola Health (formerly BabyMD) is a pediatric healthcare provider focused on making healthcare less clinical, less intimidating, and more human for children of all ages and the parents raising them.

As families’ needs evolve, Hoola Health provides child-first healthcare that adapts from early childhood through adolescence. Our clinics are thoughtfully designed to create a welcoming workplace for children while enabling honest, jargon-free conversations with parents.

From approachable outpatient care and stress-free vaccination experiences to therapy that fits into real family life, Hoola Health aims to be a supportive partner in parenting — without judgment or unsolicited advice.

This role goes beyond feeding support. You will help mothers with the emotional and practical sides of new parenthood, guide families on healthy infant routines, and build long-term relationships with the families you work with. Candidates who also understand infant sleep will be given preference.

ROLE OVERVIEW

Hoola Health is looking for a Child Nutritionist to guide families on healthy eating from infancy through childhood. You will support parents through weaning, solid food introduction, and the everyday feeding challenges of growing children, through consultations at Hoola Health clinics and virtual sessions.

This role is about more than diet charts. You will build trust with families, understand each child's needs, and help parents make confident, practical food choices that support healthy growth and development.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Child Nutrition Consultations

- Conduct in-clinic consultations across Hoola Health clinics, along with virtual consultations.
- Assess each child's growth, diet, and nutritional status, including height, weight, BMI, growth chart tracking, and identification of deficiencies.
- Develop personalized nutrition plans for every child, involving parents and caregivers, based on the child's age, health,

and developmental needs.
- Guide families on common concerns such as picky eating, poor appetite, underweight or overweight, food allergies and intolerances, constipation, and nutrient deficiencies.

Weaning & Solid Food Introduction
- Guide parents on when and how to start solids, including readiness signs and age-appropriate first foods.
- Support families with different weaning approaches, food textures, portion sizes, and meal progression.
- Help parents balance breastfeeding or formula feeding with solid foods.
- Advise on safe food introduction, allergen introduction, and choking prevention.
- Encourage healthy, culturally familiar home-cooked foods and good eating habits from an early age.

Family Support & Follow-ups
- Offer warm, non-judgmental support to parents who may feel anxious about their child's eating or growth.
- Conduct structured follow-ups, in clinic or virtually, and track each child's progress over time.
- Refer children to pediatricians or other specialists when additional support is required.

Documentation & Collaboration
- Maintain clear, accurate records of consultations, growth data, diet plans, and outcomes.
- Work with Hoola Health's lactation consultants, pediatricians, psychologists, physiotherapists, and other care providers.
- Contribute to nutrition protocols, case studies, and best practices across Hoola Health clinics.

Education & Community Engagement
- Conduct in-clinic workshops, parent support sessions, and webinars on weaning, child nutrition, and healthy eating habits.
- Create evidence-based content such as meal guides,

recipe ideas, and feeding tips for parents.
- Stay updated with the latest research in infant and child nutrition.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree or Diploma in Clinical Nutrition, Dietetics, or Food & Nutrition.
- Minimum 1 year of work experience as a nutritionist or dietitian.
- Strong understanding of infant and child nutrition (mandatory).
- Working knowledge of weaning and solid food introduction guidance.
- Fluency in English.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- Experience working with infants, toddlers, or school-age children.
- Experience in pediatric clinics, maternity centers, or child health programs.
- Conducting parent workshops or group sessions.
- Experience with food allergies, childhood obesity, or feeding difficulties.

SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES
- Great listener: you understand what children and parents share, and what they don't.
- Patient and compassionate, with a natural ease around children.
- Able to explain nutrition simply and inspire families to build healthy habits.
- Comfortable handling both in-clinic and virtual consultations.
- Willingness to work across multiple Hoola Health clinics as scheduled.
- Comfortable tracking growth and nutrition data.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and digital tools.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Collaborative team player with a strong work ethic.

- Parents feel confident and informed about feeding their child.
- Smooth, healthy transitions to solid foods.
- Visible improvement in children's growth and nutritional status.
- High satisfaction and engagement across Hoola Health clinics and programs.
- Early identification of nutrition or growth concerns.
