Role & responsibilities

- Handle daily cash counter operations, including cash receipts, payments, and customer transactions, ensuring accuracy and accountability.

- Process customer payments through cash, credit/debit cards, UPI, and other authorized payment methods.

- Generate bills, invoices, and receipts using POS systems or billing software.

- Verify product prices, discounts, promotional offers, and applicable taxes to ensure accurate billing.

- Maintain accurate records of daily sales, cash collections, refunds, cancellations, and other financial transactions.

- Perform daily cash closing and reconciliation by matching physical cash and digital payment records against billing system reports.

- Identify and report cash discrepancies, billing errors, or payment-related issues to the supervisor or accounts team.

- Handle customer queries related to billing, payments, refunds, and receipts in a polite and professional manner.

- Ensure proper cash security, follow cash-handling procedures, and adhere to company policies and internal control guidelines.

- Coordinate with store, sales, and accounts teams to resolve billing discrepancies and ensure smooth operations.

- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cash counter and ensure the proper functioning of billing equipment.





- Prepare daily cash summaries and transaction reports and submit them to the concerned supervisor.

- Maintain confidentiality of financial information and customer transaction details.

- Support internal audits and verification of cash and billing records whenever required.

Preferred candidate profile

- Education: 12th Pass, Graduate, or equivalent qualification; candidates with a background in Commerce or Accounting will be preferred.

- Experience: 05 years of experience in cash handling, billing, retail operations, or customer service. Freshers with good numerical and communication skills may also apply.

- Technical Skills: Basic computer knowledge, MS Excel, billing software, and Point of Sale (POS) systems.

- Cash Management: Knowledge of cash handling, payment processing, daily cash reconciliation, and maintaining transaction records.

- Payment Knowledge: Familiarity with cash, debit/credit card transactions, UPI, and other digital payment methods.

- Communication Skills: Valuable verbal communication and customer-handling skills.

- Personal Attributes: Honest, reliable, detail-oriented, organized, and capable of handling financial transactions responsibly.

- Professional Skills: Strong numerical ability, accuracy in billing, time management, and the ability to work effectively in a team.
