Most career support ends with advice.

Someone tells a candidate what to do, hands them a plan, and hopes they execute.

At Ark Abroad, that is where this role begins.

We are looking for a Career Strategy Operator who can take the strategy developed for each learner and turn it into high-quality execution every single week.

This is not a traditional career coaching role .

You are part operator, part strategist, part quality controller and part stakeholder manager.

Your job is to make sure good strategy actually turns into strong work — and strong work turns into stronger signals in the job market.

What You'll Own1. Turn strategy into execution

Our research team determines

- which roles a learner should target
- how they should be positioned
- where their strongest opportunities are
- what proof-of-work they should create

You turn that direction into an executable weekly plan.

Every task should have

- a clear objective
- a deadline
- an expected standard
- evidence of completion

No vague action plans.
1. Drive proof-of-work to completion

Proof-of-work is one of the most important parts of our system.

Learners might build

- case studies
- market analyses
- dashboards
- strategy documents
- technical projects
- industry research
- campaign concepts

You don't need to already understand every profession. You need to be able to understand unfamiliar work quickly enough to ask intelligent questions, challenge weak thinking and help the learner turn an idea into something an employer would actually care about.

“Submitted” is not good enough.

It needs to be good.

1. Maintain execution quality

You will review things like:
- resumes
- LinkedIn profiles
- proof-of-work
- outreach
- applications
- positioning
- learner research

You are constantly asking: Would this actually make an employer take this candidate more seriously?

If the answer is no, you push it back.

You should be comfortable telling someone:

“This isn't strong enough yet. Here's why. Here's what needs to change.”

1. Own follow-through

You may have 15+ learners moving simultaneously.

Each one will have

- commitments
- deadlines
- blockers
- follow-ups
- deliverables
- dependencies

Your job is to make sure nothing disappears. You work from systems, trackers and evidence — not memory.

If someone committed to something, you know:

what they committed to → when it is due → whether it happened → what happened next.

1.

Spot problems before they become failures

A learner slowing down. A proof-of-work project going nowhere.

Research that doesn't match what you're seeing.

A positioning strategy learners repeatedly struggle to execute.

You surface these patterns early.

You aren't only responsible for operating the system.

You help us improve the system.

You will regularly feed insights back to the Head Coach and research team about what is working, what keeps breaking and where the programme needs to improve.

Who We're Looking For

We care much more about how you operate than whether you've ever worked in career coaching.

You probably have 2–6 years of professional experience and have previously been trusted to make things happen across multiple people or projects.

Strong backgrounds include

- Customer Success
- Project Management
- Program Management
- Founder's Office
- Consulting
- Implementation
- Operations
- Account Management
- Recruitment
- high-ownership startup roles

But we're open to other backgrounds. The common trait is simple:

People trust you to get things done.

You Should Be Very Good AtFollow-through

Things don't quietly disappear when you own them.

Quality judgment

You notice the difference between something that is technically finished and something that is actually good.

Stakeholder management

You can challenge someone without destroying the relationship.

You can work with learners, researchers and senior team members simultaneously and keep everyone aligned.

Learning quickly

One learner might be targeting data analytics.

The next might be a civil engineer.

The next might work in accounting.

You can enter unfamiliar territory, understand enough quickly and ask sharp questions.

Systems

You don't manage 15 people through memory and WhatsApp messages.

You use trackers, workflows, documentation and AI to stay on top of everything.

Communication

You can explain

- what is wrong
- why it is wrong
- what needs to change
- what happens next

clearly and confidently.

AI Fluency Matters

Ark Abroad is becoming increasingly AI-native.

You don't need to be an engineer.

But you should already use tools like ChatGPT, Claude or similar systems to:

- research
- analyse information
- understand unfamiliar industries
- review work
- structure projects
- automate repetitive work
- improve your own productivity

Someone who still works entirely manually will struggle in this role.

What We Don't Want

This probably isn't for you if:
- you want to primarily give motivational advice
- you avoid difficult conversations
- you accept mediocre work because someone “tried”
- you regularly forget follow-ups
- you need someone to tell you exactly what to do next
- you struggle to learn unfamiliar subjects quickly
- you believe activity automatically equals progress
- you prefer meetings over execution

Career coaching experience is not required . In some cases, we would actually prefer someone from an execution-heavy environment who can learn our career system.

How You'll Be Measured

Your performance should be visible in the behaviour and output of your learners.

We care about

- learners making meaningful progress every week
- stronger proof-of-work over time
- fewer missed commitments
- fewer dropped threads
- higher execution quality
- blockers being identified earlier
- recurring problems being surfaced to leadership
- stronger signals being created in the job market

We don't measure success by how many calls you conduct. We measure whether learners are moving forward .
