Company Description Humming Board – The Board Game Café is Davangere’s first dedicated board game café, created from a long-standing passion for contemporary board games and playful social experiences. It serves as a welcoming space where guests can unplug from screens, connect with others, and enjoy creative, engaging activities such as painting, knitting, quizzes, music, puzzles, and group events. Visitors can play with friends and family or join regular meetups to discover recent games and meet new people, whether they are seasoned gamers or complete beginners.

The café also offers a variety of beverages and snacks, including coffee, lemonades, iced teas, frappes, burgers, and French fries, as well as 3D printing services for projects, prototypes, or unique gifts. At its core, Humming Board focuses on real-world interaction, curiosity, and community, encouraging guests to leave with new memories, skills, or friendships.

Role Description As a Boardgame Enthusiast at Humming Board, you will work full time/par ttime on-site in Davangere, welcoming guests, introducing them to a wide range of board games, and helping them choose games suited to their interests and experience level. You will teach game rules, facilitate play sessions, and create an inclusive, friendly environment where individuals and groups feel comfortable joining in. Daily responsibilities include setting up and organizing game areas, hosting games,



maintaining the game library and supporting basic food and beverage service in collaboration with the café team.

You will also help run special events such as themed game nights, tournaments, and group activities, encouraging participation and building a sense of community. The role involves engaging with visitors of all ages, answering questions, recommending activities beyond board games, and ensuring everyone has a secure and enjoyable experience.

Qualifications

- Strong interest in board games and tabletop culture, with the ability to learn and explain rules clearly to new players.
- Customer service and hospitality skills, including welcoming guests, handling inquiries, and supporting food and beverage service.
- Communication and interpersonal skills to engage diverse visitors, facilitate group activities, and foster an inclusive, respectful environment.
- Organizational skills for managing game collections, maintaining clean play areas, and assisting with the setup and coordination of events.
- Comfort working on-site in a busy café setting, with the ability to stand for extended periods and manage multiple tasks during peak hours.
- Basic digital literacy for using point-of-sale systems and social media or messaging tools; interest in creative activities and 3D printing is a plus.
- Previous experience in cafés, retail, education, or community spaces is beneficial but not required; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are highly valued.
