Role Description The Bima Sakhi role at LIC is a part-time position based in Lucknow with a hybrid work arrangement, allowing for a combination of in office activities and some work from home. Day-to-day responsibilities include reaching out to potential customers, explaining LIC’s insurance products, and supporting individuals and families in selecting suitable policies. The role involves assisting with documentation, premium collection coordination, and basic policy servicing under guidance from LIC offices.

Bima Sakhi associates help promote financial awareness, build long-term customer relationships in their local communities, and participate in training or meetings as scheduled by LIC. Performance in this role is supported by LIC’s structured guidance, marketing materials,



and ongoing skill development programs.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to explain financial concepts clearly and build trust with diverse customers.
- Candidates should possess sales and customer service abilities, such as identifying customer needs, presenting suitable insurance options, and maintaining follow-up and support.
- Candidates should possess basic financial and insurance awareness, including an interest in life insurance, savings, and protection-oriented products (training support will be provided).
- Candidates should possess organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple customer interactions, documentation, and part-time schedules effectively.
- Candidates should possess basic digital literacy, including using mobile phones, messaging apps, and simple online tools for communication and record-keeping.
- Minimum educational qualification: completion of secondary education (higher qualifications such as a diploma or degree in any field are an advantage).
- Local language proficiency and familiarity with Lucknow and surrounding areas are preferred for effective community outreach.
- Prior experience in community work, self-help groups, sales, or financial services is beneficial but not mandatory; motivation to learn and serve the community is essential.
