Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented BBS Engineer to prepare and manage Bar Bending Schedules (BBS) for construction projects. The candidate will be responsible for accurate reinforcement quantity calculations, preparation of BBS, coordination with site and structural teams, and ensuring reinforcement work is executed as per approved drawings and specifications.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare accurate Bar Bending Schedules (BBS) based on structural and architectural drawings.

- Calculate reinforcement quantities, bar lengths, cutting lengths, bends, laps, hooks, and wastage.

- Review structural drawings and reinforcement details for constructability and accuracy.

- Coordinate with Site Engineers, Structural Engineers, Quantity Surveyors, and Planning Teams.

- Verify reinforcement work at site against approved drawings and BBS.

- Prepare and maintain reinforcement quantity statements and material requirements.

- Monitor steel consumption and identify discrepancies or excess consumption.

- Assist in preparing material reconciliation and reinforcement quantity reports.

- Ensure proper documentation and timely updating of BBS revisions.

- Coordinate with the execution team for reinforcement-related technical clarifications.





- Ensure compliance with project specifications, IS codes, and company quality standards.

Qualification

- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering.

- Candidates with relevant experience in BBS preparation and reinforcement detailing will be preferred.

Experience

- 6-10 years of experience in BBS preparation, quantity estimation, and reinforcement detailing in civil construction.

- Experience in residential, commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects is preferred.

Skills Required

- Strong knowledge of Bar Bending Schedule preparation.

- Good understanding of structural and reinforcement drawings.

- Knowledge of reinforcement detailing, steel quantity calculation, and material reconciliation.

- Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Excel.

- Knowledge of relevant IS codes and construction practices.

- Valuable coordination and communication skills.

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
