AI-Augmented Techno-Functional Consultant – Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations

Office Timings: 2pm IST to 11pm IST

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Techno-Functional Consultant with robust expertise in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations who uses AI as a core part of how they work. The ideal candidate combines deep functional knowledge with hands-on technical skill, has delivered at least 2 to 3 end-to-end implementations, and uses AI tools and a Git-based workflow to automate much of the analysis, configuration documentation, testing, and development effort that traditionally slows ERP delivery.

We expect one AI-ready techno-functional consultant to cover the ground that previously took a functional consultant plus a developer, without trading away quality or control.

What “AI-Ready” Means in This Role

Requirements & design

Use AI to turn workshop notes, transcripts, and process documents into structured requirements, fit-gap analysis, and draft solution designs, then validate them with the business.

Documentation & training

Generate first drafts of FDDs, test scripts, user manuals, and training material with AI; the consultant owns accuracy and sign-off.

Testing automation

Automate regression and UAT preparation with RSAT and AI-generated test cases and test data.

Light development with AI

Use AI coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code) to build or modify X++ extensions, data entities, and reports, and to troubleshoot technical issues, rather than waiting on a separate developer.

Git-based delivery

Commit and review changes through a Git repo (Azure DevOps or GitHub) with pull requests and pipeline-driven deployment.

Copilot & agents





Apply D365 Copilot capabilities, Power Platform, and Copilot Studio agents where they remove manual work for finance and supply chain users.

Governance

Review all AI output before use; protect company and customer data; follow approved-tool and security policies.

Roles & Responsibilities

Functional

- Understand business requirements across Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Operations.
- Conduct requirement gathering, fit-gap analysis, and solution design, using AI to accelerate synthesis and documentation.
- Configure D365 F&O; modules: General Ledger, AP, AR, Fixed Assets, Budgeting, Cash & Bank, Inventory, Procurement, Sales & Marketing.
- Prepare Functional Design Documents (FDD), test scripts, and user manuals, with AI-generated first drafts reviewed and finalized by you.
- Lead client workshops, UAT, and user training sessions.
- Provide post-go-live support and handle change requests.

Technical

- Build and modify solutions in X++ using the Extensions model, Data Entities, workflows, and SSRS reports, using AI coding assistants as the default way of working.
- Manage your work in Git: branches, pull requests, and automated build and deployment pipelines in Azure DevOps or GitHub.
- Run data migration with the Data Management Framework (DMF), using AI to speed up mapping,



transformation, and validation.
- Integrate D365 F&O; with third-party applications using APIs, Logic Apps, Power Platform, and Azure.
- Debug and troubleshoot technical issues, using AI to speed root-cause analysis, and coordinate with the wider technical team on complex items.
- Create reusable prompts, templates, and standards so AI output is consistent and the whole team benefits.

Required Skills

- 6+ years of experience in Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (AX 2012 experience is a plus).
- Minimum 2 full lifecycle implementations of D365 F&O.;
- Strong understanding of Finance and Operations business processes.
- Expertise in X++, C#, .NET, and SQL; working knowledge of LCS, Azure DevOps or GitHub, and RSAT.
- Proven, current hands-on use of AI tools for both functional work (design, documentation, testing) and technical work (code, debugging), with examples you can walk us through.
- Working knowledge of Git workflows and CI/CD concepts.
- Excellent communication, including the ability to write clear specs and prompts that AI can act on.

Preferred Qualifications

- Microsoft D365 F&O; certification (functional or developer).
- Experience with Copilot Studio, Power Automate, or D365 Copilot features.
- B.E./B.Tech, MBA, MCA, CA (Inter), or equivalent.

What Success Looks Like

- Requirements, designs, test scripts, and training material delivered noticeably faster than traditional methods, with quality intact.
- Small and medium technical changes completed end to end by you, in Git, without a hand-off.
- Reusable AI prompts, templates, and automation adopted by the wider team.
