Licious

Bengaluru

We are Licious and we are a Bengaluru based meat and seafood company founded in 2015 by Abhay Hanjura and Vivek Gupta, our founders, foodies and friends. We pride ourselves on being India’s most successful D2C food-tech brand operating in 20 cities across the country delighting over 32 lac customers with our de-licious fresh meat and seafood!

Think you have what it takes to be the magic ingredient in the recipe that is Licious? Read on…

What makes the role meaty?

We are looking for a Quality, Processing Centres to lead Quality across our 5 Processing Centres and build a robust, scalable quality framework across the processing value chain.

This is a central quality leadership role, based out of the Corporate Office and reporting directly to the Chief Quality Officer. The Factory Quality Heads will report into this role.

The starting point will be the journey of cut chicken entering the Processing Centre through cutting, packing, storage and dispatch. Over time, the role will have the opportunity to expand its scope across categories, processes and the broader fresh supply chain.

The role will require someone who can operate at both strategic and ground level—setting the right standards while being comfortable going into factories, understanding the reality on the floor and driving change.

What will you own?

1. Build the next level of Quality maturity

- Define and drive a consistent Quality framework across all Processing Centres.
- Standardise processes, quality benchmarks, controls and ways of working across factories.
- Identify gaps in the current Quality maturity and build a roadmap to move the function to the next level.
- Ensure quality systems are scalable as the business grows in volume, categories and complexity.
- Build a culture where Quality is embedded into operations rather than being a final checkpoint.

2. Own quality across the processing journey Starting with cut chicken, drive quality across:

Raw Material Receipt → Cutting → Processing → Packing → Storage → Dispatch

- Define what should be accepted, rejected or held at every critical stage.
- Build clear decision-making frameworks and specifications for quality teams.
- Strengthen in-process controls and ensure consistent execution across factories.
- Drive root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions for recurring quality issues.
- Partner closely with Operations to balance quality,

availability, cost and customer expectations.

3. Build end-to-end traceability Fresh sourcing comes with unique challenges. The quality of the final product starts much before it reaches the factory.

The chance is to build a robust traceability model covering:

Farm / Source → Procurement → Processing Centre → Processing → Packing → Storage → Customer

- Build stronger visibility of where raw material comes from and how it moves through the network.
- Work with Sourcing, Operations, Technology and other stakeholders to create an integrated traceability framework.
- Move from fragmented traceability systems to a more end-to-end model.
- Explore opportunities to make product-level information available to consumers through digital/QR-led solutions.
- Support pilots that can eventually allow customers to understand the history and source of the product they purchase.

4. Quality of Fresh Raw Material Fresh sourcing is one of the biggest quality challenges in the business.

The role will work closely with Sourcing and Operations to answer critical questions such as:

- What raw material should we accept?
- What should be rejected?
- What deviations can be managed and how?
- How do we make these decisions consistently across locations?
- How do we ensure the quality standard at source translates into the quality of the final product?

Build strong quality specifications, acceptance criteria and escalation mechanisms that can be consistently applied across the network. 5. Lead the Factory Quality organisation

- Lead and coach the 5 Factory Quality Heads .
- Build capability across the wider 70–80 member Quality team.
- Ensure the right structure, talent and capability are in place as the network scales.
- Develop succession plans and a strong talent pipeline for Quality leadership roles.
- Create clear accountability and performance metrics across factory Quality teams.
- Build a high-performing Quality organisation that can operate effectively at greater scale and complexity.

6.

Drive Quality through data and technology

- Build meaningful Quality dashboards and leading indicators across factories.
- Move from reactive quality reporting to early identification of quality risks.
- Use data to identify recurring issues, factory-level trends and systemic gaps.
- Partner with Technology/Data teams to improve visibility, traceability and quality reporting.
- Explore digital quality checks and real-time reporting mechanisms wherever relevant.

7. Cross-functional leadership

Work closely with

Sourcing | Operations | Production | Supply Chain | Technology | Category | Customer Experience to ensure Quality is considered across the entire product journey.

The role will need to influence stakeholders beyond the Quality function and drive decisions that improve both customer experience and operational outcomes.

What success looks like

Over time, you will help Licious build:

1. A consistent Quality standard across all Processing Centres
2. Stronger source-to-factory quality controls
3. Clear and data-backed accept/reject decision frameworks
4. End-to-end traceability across the fresh supply chain
5. Stronger visibility into quality risks before they reach the customer
6. A scalable Quality organisation and leadership pipeline
7. Better factory-level quality maturity and accountability
8. A foundation that can scale with the business as categories, volumes and complexity grow

We hope that you have

- 10–15 years of experience in Quality, preferably in food manufacturing, fresh food, FMCG, meat/seafood, dairy or other high-volume food processing environments.
- Strong experience managing Quality across multiple factories/plants.
- Experience leading Quality Heads/Managers and larger quality teams.
- Strong understanding of food processing, HACCP, GMP, food safety and quality systems.
- Experience building or improving Quality systems in a growing/scale-up environment.
- Strong understanding of raw material quality and supplier/source-level quality.
- Experience with traceability, quality data and process standardisation will be an advantage.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- Ability to work comfortably between strategy, factory floors and execution.
- Willingness to travel extensively across Processing Centres, particularly during the first 6 months.
