Assistant Manager - QA/QC

Reporting To

Project Manager / Head - Project Director

Location

Project Site / Regional Office

Purpose of Role To establish, implement, and monitor Quality Assurance and Quality Control systems across projects, ensuring compliance with project specifications, approved drawings, applicable standards, client requirements, and statutory regulations while driving continuous quality improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Assurance

Implement and maintain Project Quality Management System (QMS).

Ensure compliance with company quality policies, procedures, and standards.

Review project quality plans, method statements, inspection plans, and checklists.

Develop and update quality control procedures and documentation.

Conduct quality awareness and training programs for project teams.

Quality Control

Monitor execution works for compliance with approved drawings and specifications.

Conduct inspections of civil, architectural, MEP, and interior fit-out works.

Verify material approvals, mock-ups, and workmanship standards.

Ensure Inspection Requests (IRs) and quality records are maintained.

Monitor closure of quality observations and punch points.

Audit & Compliance

Plan and conduct internal quality audits.

Support external audits by clients, consultants, and certification bodies.

Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and company quality standards.

Identify non-conformities and implement corrective and preventive actions.

Documentation & Reporting

Maintain quality records, inspection reports, NCRs, and closure reports.

Prepare weekly and monthly QA/QC reports.





Track quality KPIs and provide management dashboards.

Maintain material approval trackers and quality registers.

Support project handover documentation and close-out reports.

Non-Conformance Management

Raise and monitor Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).

Conduct root cause analysis of quality issues.

Coordinate corrective and preventive actions with project teams.

Verify effectiveness of implemented corrective actions.

Stakeholder Coordination

Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and vendors on quality requirements.

Participate in site inspections, quality reviews, and progress meetings.

Support project teams in resolving technical and quality-related issues.

Ensure timely closure of client observations and snag lists.

Project Handover & Close-Out

Manage snagging and de-snagging activities.

Ensure all quality documents are completed before handover.

Coordinate final inspections with clients and consultants.

Support defect liability period (DLP) quality requirements.

Qualification

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.

Certification in Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001) preferred.

Lead Auditor/Internal Auditor certification will be an added advantage.

Experience





5 to 8 years of experience in QA/QC for construction, interiors, fit-out, or PMC projects.

Experience in commercial office fit-outs, industrial, residential, or mixed-use developments preferred.

Exposure to civil, architectural, and MEP quality inspections.
