Test Strategy & Execution: Define, design, and execute end-to-end API test strategies encompassing functional, integration, regression, and security testing.

Apigee Policy Validation: Thoroughly test Apigee-specific proxy configurations and policies, including rate limiting, spike arrests, payload transformations (XML to JSON, etc.), and fault handling.

Security Testing: Validate API security mechanisms implemented in Apigee, such as OAuth 2.0 token generation/validation, OpenID Connect (OIDC), JWT signatures, SAML, API Keys, and Mutual TLS (mTLS).

Automation Frameworks: Design, build, and maintain robust API test automation frameworks from scratch using tools like REST Assured, Karate, or Postman/Newman.

Performance & Load Testing: Conduct API load, stress, and endurance testing using tools like JMeter or Gatling to ensure backend services and Apigee proxies can handle expected traffic spikes.

CI/CD Integration: Integrate automated API test suites into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps) to enable continuous testing and continuous delivery.

Defect Management & RCA: Identify, log, and track API defects; work closely with API developers (Apigee Tech Leads) to perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA)

Experience: 8 to 10 years of overall software quality assurance and testing experience.

API & Apigee Expertise: Minimum of 3 to 4 years of deep, hands-on experience testing RESTful APIs and microservices, with specific exposure to testing APIs managed via Google Cloud Apigee (Edge, X, or Hybrid).

Automation Tools: Advanced proficiency in API testing and automation tools such as Postman, SoapUI, REST Assured, or Karate.

Programming/Scripting: Solid coding skills in Java, JavaScript, or Python for writing complex automation scripts and custom assertions.

Performance Tools: Proven experience in performance and load testing using JMeter, LoadRunner, or Gatling.

Web Protocols & Formats: Deep understanding of HTTP/HTTPS protocols, REST architectural style, SOAP, JSON, XML, and API specification standards (OpenAPI/Swagger).

Agile Methodology

Familiarity with cloud platforms, particularly Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Experience with containerized testing environments (Docker/Kubernetes).

Basic understanding of behavior-driven development (BDD) using Cucumber.
