Application Engineer – Industrial Robotics

Location: Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu

Immediate Joiners Only | Candidates Based in Coimbatore or Tirupur

We need someone who can join immediately and is already living in Coimbatore or Tirupur. Please apply only if both apply to you.

About Us

We’re a Coimbatore-based robotics and industrial automation company helping metal and textile manufacturers automate their factory floors with practical, cost-effective robotic solutions.

The Role

We’re looking for an Application Engineer to be the technical bridge between our robot platforms and the real-world problems our customers need solved, across machine shops, foundries, garment factories, and fabric processing units in Tamil Nadu.

This is a hands-on engineering role, not a desk job. You’ll solve problems like setting up a 6-axis arm to safely tend a CNC lathe, getting a palletizing robot to handle 15 kg cartons at 800+ picks per hour, and building a gripper that holds a fabric roll without damaging it.

Industries You’ll Work With

- Metal manufacturing: CNC machine-tending cells, material handling, and palletizing for machined components such as pump housings, motor casings, and auto parts.
- Foundries and harsh environments: Assessing where robots can be safely deployed in dust, heat, or moisture, and working with manufacturers on protected configurations where needed.
- Textile & garment: End-of-line carton palletizing, fabric roll handling for dyeing, compacting, and finishing, and yarn and bale handling.

Key Responsibilities

- Visit customer factories, including foundries, to study manual handling processes and design suitable robotic automation solutions.
- Assess whether each customer application is technically feasible, covering payload, reach, and cycle time.
- Design and select end-effectors (grippers and tooling) for each customer’s specific product and process.

- Coordinate with tooling vendors to source end-effectors.
- Program, commission, and support robot arms for customer applications.
- Lead installation, testing, and handover of robot cells at customer sites.
- Train customer operators after handover.
- Serve as the main technical point of contact between customers and our robot manufacturing partners.
- Work with manufacturing partners on day-to-day technical queries for deployed systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues on installed systems to keep them running smoothly.
- Prepare and maintain application documentation, including process sheets, cycle time calculations, cell layout drawings, and commissioning reports.
- Travel regularly to customer sites, factories, and foundries for assessments, installation, commissioning, and support. Some trips may require overnight or multi-day stays, and we’ll give reasonable advance notice.
- Take on other duties that fit the role as the business grows.

What We’re Looking For

Required:

- Bachelor’s degree in Robotics & Automation, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- Hands-on experience programming or commissioning industrial robots (any brand: FANUC, ABB, KUKA, Yaskawa, Estun, JAKA, or similar)
- Working knowledge of CAD (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Fusion 360, or similar) for gripper and fixture design
- Comfort working directly with customers on factory floors
- Willingness to travel regularly within Tamil Nadu, mainly across Coimbatore and Tirupur

- Strong problem-solving skills and the confidence to tackle applications with no established precedent

Nice to have:

- Experience with palletizing, machine tending, or material handling robot cells
- PLC/controls integration experience (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Delta, or similar)
- Understanding of metal processes (CNC machining, foundry, fabrication) or textile processes (dyeing, compacting, garmenting)
- Vision system integration experience
- A continuous improvement mindset
- Good teamwork across technical and customer-facing teams

What We Offer

- Market-competitive salary based on experience and market standards
- Performance incentives tied to project delivery and business growth
- Direct, hands-on training from our robot manufacturing partners covering product knowledge, programming, operation, and maintenance
- Opportunity for international travel to manufacturer facilities for training
- Travel allowance for customer site visits
- The chance to grow with a young company, with a clear path to senior technical roles

Location & Travel Based in Coimbatore, with regular travel to customer sites across Coimbatore, Tirupur, and nearby industrial areas.

Pay: From ₹30,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate

- Tiruppur, Tamil Nadu: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)

Application Question(s):
- Which industrial robot brands/models have you personally programmed or commissioned?
- Roughly how many total projects or installations have you worked on in industrial robotics?
- What is your notice period?
- How many years of experience do you have in Palletizing Systems?
- Are you comfortable with regular factory site visits (Tirupur/Coimbatore) and occasional overseas training travel?

Experience:
- CAD: 1 year (Preferred)

Work Location: In person
