Job Title: Anesthesia OT Technician

Department: Operation Theatre (OT)

Location: Lakshmi Hospital, Ernakulam

Job Summary

- The Anesthesia OT Technician is responsible for assisting the anesthesiologist during surgical procedures by preparing anesthesia equipment, maintaining required supplies, and ensuring the anesthesia workstation is ready and functioning properly.
- Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare the anesthesia workstation, machines, and required equipment before procedures.
- Assist the anesthesiologist during induction, maintenance, and recovery of anesthesia.
- Arrange and maintain anesthesia drugs, airway equipment, breathing circuits, and other supplies as instructed.
- Check oxygen, nitrous oxide, and other medical gas supplies before procedures.

- Ensure proper functioning and cleanliness of anesthesia equipment.
- Assist with airway management equipment and emergency equipment when required.
- Maintain adequate stock of anesthesia-related consumables and report shortages.

- Follow infection control, sterilization, and OT safety protocols.
- Assist in maintaining proper documentation and anesthesia-related records.




- Clean, disinfect, and prepare equipment after each procedure.

- Coordinate with OT nurses, surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Respond promptly to emergency situations within the scope of responsibility.Follow hospital policies, NABH standards, and patient safety practices.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Operation Theatre & Anaesthesia Technology or equivalent qualification.
- Relevant experience in an Operation Theatre/Anesthesia department is preferred.
- Good knowledge of anesthesia equipment, OT protocols, infection control, and patient safety.
- Skills RequiredGood knowledge of anesthesia equipment and consumables.
- Ability to work effectively in a rapid-paced OT environment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to respond quickly during emergencies.
- Commitment to patient safety and infection-control practices.
