Role Description The Accountant role is a part-time, on-site position based in Chennai. The individual in this role will manage day-to-day accounting activities, including recording transactions, maintaining ledgers, and reconciling bank and vendor accounts.

Responsibilities include preparing invoices, tracking payables and receivables, assisting with monthly and quarterly closing, and supporting the preparation of financial reports and statements. The Accountant will also help ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, local tax regulations, and internal controls. This role involves close collaboration with management to provide accurate financial data that supports budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decision-making.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong skills in bookkeeping, general ledger maintenance, and transaction recording.
- Candidates should possess skills in financial reporting,



account reconciliation, and basic budgeting and forecasting.
- Candidates should possess skills in tax preparation support, understanding of local tax regulations, and compliance documentation.
- Candidates should possess skills in using accounting software, spreadsheets, and basic data analysis tools.
- Candidates should possess attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and solid organizational and time-management abilities.
- Candidates should possess clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Relevant professional qualification or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Prior experience in an accounting or finance role, ideally within a small business , is beneficial.
