Role Description The Accountant role at Leira Consulting is a full-time, on-site position based in Chennai. The role involves managing day-to-day accounting operations, including bookkeeping, general ledger maintenance, and timely recording of financial transactions.

The Accountant will prepare and review financial statements, reconcile accounts, process invoices, manage accounts payable and receivable, and support month-end and year-end closing activities. The role includes monitoring budgets, assisting with financial analysis, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and local regulations, and supporting internal and external audits. The Accountant will collaborate with cross-functional teams, provide accurate financial reports to management, and contribute to improving accounting processes and controls.

Qualifications

- Strong knowledge of core accounting principles, general ledger management, and financial reporting.
- Experience with accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, invoicing, and month-end/year-end closing.




- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems, along with solid MS Excel skills (e.g., formulas, pivot tables).
- Understanding of local tax regulations, compliance requirements, and audit processes in India.
- Excellent numerical aptitude, attention to detail, and ability to analyze financial data and identify variances.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and in a team, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a rapid-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., CA, CMA, ACCA) are an advantage.
- Prior experience in corporate or consulting environments is preferred; exposure to multi-entity or multi-country operations is beneficial.
