2. Job Purpose

The Senior Merchandiser will be responsible for managing the complete merchandising process, from order receipt and product development to production coordination and final dispatch. The role requires close coordination with design, sampling, purchase, production, quality, inventory, and sales teams to ensure timely delivery of high-quality garments as per customer requirements.

3. Key Responsibilities

A. Order Management & Merchandising

- Manage orders from order confirmation to final dispatch.
- Understand customer requirements, product specifications, size charts, and garment construction details.
- Prepare and maintain order sheets, costing sheets, and production follow-up reports.
- Ensure all orders are executed according to approved specifications and delivery timelines.
- Maintain accurate records of order status, quantities, and delivery schedules.

B. Product Development & Sampling

- Coordinate with the design and sampling teams for new product development.
- Review samples, measurements, fabric, trims, and accessories as per approved specifications.
- Ensure timely submission and approval of samples before bulk production.
- Maintain sample records and track approval status.

C. Fabric, Trims & Accessories Coordination

- Coordinate with the purchase and inventory teams for fabric, trims, labels, buttons, zippers, and other accessories.
- Ensure materials are available as per production requirements.
- Monitor material shortages and follow up with the concerned departments for timely resolution.
- Verify material consumption and coordinate with the team to minimise wastage.

D. Production Coordination

- Coordinate with production, cutting, stitching, finishing,



and quality teams to monitor order progress.
- Prepare and track production plans against customer delivery commitments.
- Identify production delays, bottlenecks, and material-related issues and escalate them to management.
- Ensure the production team follows approved samples, specifications, and size measurements.
- Maintain regular follow-ups to ensure orders are completed within the committed timelines.

E. Costing & Consumption

- Prepare garment costing based on fabric consumption, trims, accessories, processing, and other applicable costs.
- Calculate fabric and accessory consumption as per garment specifications.
- Coordinate with purchase and production teams to control material costs and wastage.
- Support management in pricing decisions and cost optimisation.

F. Quality Control

- Coordinate with the quality team to ensure garments meet approved quality standards.
- Monitor quality issues during sampling, production, and finishing.
- Ensure proper inspection of measurements, stitching, finishing, and overall garment appearance.
- Follow up on corrective actions for rejected or defective garments.

G. Dispatch & Delivery Management

- Coordinate with warehouse and dispatch teams to ensure timely order delivery.
- Verify order quantities, packing requirements, size assortments, and dispatch schedules.
- Monitor pending orders and maintain delivery status reports.
- Ensure dispatch documentation is completed accurately.

H. Reporting & Documentation

- Prepare daily and weekly merchandising reports.
- Maintain order trackers, production status reports, sample approval records, and delivery schedules.
- Update management on order progress, material shortages, production delays, and pending approvals.




- Maintain proper documentation for all merchandising activities.

4. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

The performance of the Senior Merchandiser will be evaluated based on:

- Timely completion and delivery of customer orders.
- Accuracy of order details, costing, and consumption calculations.
- Timely development and approval of samples.
- Effective coordination with production, purchase, inventory, and quality teams.
- Reduction in material wastage and avoidable costs.
- Minimisation of order delays and production-related issues.
- Accuracy and timely submission of merchandising reports.
- Customer satisfaction and compliance with approved product specifications.

5. Required Qualifications & Skills

- Graduate in Fashion Technology, Textile Technology, Apparel Merchandising, or a related field.
- 4–7 years of relevant experience in garment manufacturing or apparel merchandising.
- Robust understanding of garment construction, fabrics, trims, and accessories.
- Knowledge of garment costing, consumption calculations, and production planning.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and merchandising reporting.
- Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple orders and meet strict delivery deadlines.
- Knowledge of ERP systems and garment manufacturing software will be an advantage.

7. Expected Outcome

The Senior Merchandiser is expected to ensure smooth coordination between merchandising and all relevant departments, maintain accurate order records, control material and production costs, and deliver quality garments within committed timelines.

Note: The employee will be expected to perform additional merchandising-related responsibilities as assigned by management from time to time.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
