1. Job Summary

We are looking for a qualified and dedicated Physician Assistant to support the Medical Gastroenterology department in patient assessment, clinical documentation, treatment coordination, and follow-up care. The candidate will work closely with the Consultant Gastroenterologist and the multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure quality patient care and smooth departmental operations.

2. Key Responsibilities

- Assist the Consultant Gastroenterologist in patient assessment, clinical examinations, and routine patient care.
- Record patient medical histories, presenting complaints, vital signs, and clinical observations.
- Assist in preparing case sheets, clinical notes, treatment plans, discharge summaries, and other medical documentation.
- Coordinate OPD consultations, inpatient rounds, investigations, and patient follow-ups.
- Assist in coordinating gastroenterology-related investigations, including endoscopy, colonoscopy, and other diagnostic procedures, as directed by the consultant.
- Educate patients and caregivers regarding prescribed treatment, medication compliance, preparation for procedures, and follow-up appointments.
- Monitor patients for changes in clinical condition and promptly escalate concerns to the treating consultant.
- Coordinate with nursing staff, laboratory, radiology, pharmacy, and other hospital departments for timely patient care.
- Ensure accurate maintenance of patient records and compliance with hospital protocols,



infection-control standards, and patient confidentiality requirements.
- Assist with patient admissions, transfers, discharge coordination, and continuity of care.
- Support the consultant during clinical procedures within the scope of training, competency, and hospital authorization.
- Perform other clinical and administrative duties assigned by the department head.

3. Educational Qualification

- Bachelor’s degree in Physician Assistant / B.Sc. Physician Assistant from a recognized institution.
- Relevant clinical training or internship in a hospital setting is preferred.

4. Experience

- Freshers may apply if they have completed the required clinical training.
- Experience in Medical Gastroenterology, Internal Medicine, or a gastroenterology/endoscopy unit is preferred.

5. Required Skills

- Good clinical assessment and patient-care skills.
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology and clinical documentation.
- Understanding of gastroenterology investigations and procedures.
- Positive communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with consultants and multidisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of hospital information systems (HIS/EMR) is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail, patient confidentiality, and professional ethics.

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
