Chartered Accountant — U.S. Accounting & Taxation

About the Role

We are seeking a qualified India-based Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with hands-on experience supporting accounting, bookkeeping, and tax services to U.S. clients.

The ideal candidate understands U.S. accounting practices and tax requirements, can independently manage multiple client accounts, and communicates confidently with U.S. business owners and teams. . Prior experience serving U.S. clients is essential.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage bookkeeping for U.S. businesses, including transaction classification, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
- Complete bank, credit card, payroll, loan, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Prepare journal entries, accruals, depreciation schedules, and month-end and year-end closing adjustments.
- Prepare accurate profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow reports, and supporting schedules.
- Review and clean up historical accounting records and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare or assist with U.S. individual and business tax returns, including Forms 1040, 1065, 1120, and 1120-S, as applicable to the assigned clients.
- Support U.S. federal and state tax compliance, estimated tax calculations, sales tax filings, and information reporting, including Forms 1099.
- Maintain organized tax workpapers and track filing deadlines, extensions, and outstanding client documents.
- Assist with payroll accounting and coordination with U.S. payroll providers.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow analysis, and management reporting.
- Communicate with U.S. clients regarding financial results, documentation requests, and deadlines.




- Maintain confidentiality and follow secure procedures for handling client information.

Required Qualifications

- Indian Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification or a recognized CPA credential. Applicants should specify their certifying body and qualification status.
- Demonstrated experience providing accounting, bookkeeping, and tax services to U.S. clients.
- Robust working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, accrual accounting, and U.S. federal and state tax requirements.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online/Desktop and Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and lookup functions.
- Experience with U.S. tax preparation software such as Drake, ProSeries, Lacerte, UltraTax, or comparable platforms.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple accounts and deadlines independently.
- Reliable internet access and a private workspace.
- Availability to overlap with U.S. business hours for client communication and team meetings.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience working with a U.S. accounting firm or outsourced accounting provider.
- Familiarity with multistate taxation, payroll accounting, and sales tax compliance.
- Experience with Gusto, ADP, BILL, Xero, or similar platforms.
- Experience supporting healthcare businesses, professional practices, nonprofits, or businesses with multiple entities.
