About the Role
Blueisland Clothing is looking for an experienced menswear garment designer to develop and refine designs for our clothing collections. The right candidate will understand garment construction and be able to take a design from concept through to a production-ready garment.
Responsibilities
- Create original designs for menswear, including shirts, T-shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts and jackets.
- Prepare sketches, design specifications and tech packs for production.
- Select suitable fabrics, trims, colours and finishes for each design.
- Coordinate with sampling and production teams to develop and refine samples.
- Review samples for fit, construction, measurements and finishing, and suggest corrections.
- Keep up with menswear trends and translate relevant ideas into commercially suitable designs.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience designing menswear garments.
- Good understanding of fabrics, garment construction, fit and production processes.
- Ability to develop clear design sketches and production specifications.
- Working knowledge of CorelDRAW and Adobe Photoshop is preferred.
- A portfolio or examples of previous garment designs is preferred.
- Willingness to work in office in Madurai, Monday to Saturday.
