We are looking for an experienced and skilled Hostel Cook to prepare nutritious, hygienic, and delicious meals for hostel students and staff at our TAAC Oddanchatram Campus. The ideal candidate should have extensive knowledge of South Indian cuisine and the ability to manage large-scale cooking operations while maintaining food quality, hygiene, and timely meal service.

Requirements

- 7–10 years of relevant cooking experience, preferably in school hostels, colleges, hospitals, or other institutional kitchens.
- Excellent knowledge of South Indian cuisine, particularly traditional Tamil Nadu dishes.
- Proven ability to prepare meals for large groups of students and staff.
- Expertise in preparing breakfast, lunch, dinner, and evening snacks.
- Robust knowledge of food hygiene, kitchen sanitation, and safe food-handling practices.
- Ability to maintain consistent taste, quality, and portion sizes.
- Experience in menu planning, ingredient management, portion control, and minimising food wastage.




- Ability to supervise kitchen helpers and manage daily kitchen operations efficiently.
- Responsible, disciplined, and committed to maintaining cleanliness and food quality.
- Immediate joiners are preferred.
- Food and accommodation will be provided by the institution.
- Salary will be negotiable based on experience and skills.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare a variety of South Indian dishes according to the institutional menu.
- Ensure timely preparation and serving of meals.
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness and proper storage of ingredients and food items.
- Monitor the quality and freshness of raw materials.
- Ensure compliance with institutional food safety and hygiene standards.
- Coordinate with kitchen assistants and hostel administration for smooth operations.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
