About the Role





The Capability Lead – Planning & Inventory Management plays a critical role in shaping how Target plans demand, positions inventory, and executes flow across the enterprise. This role is accountable for building and evolving enterprise planning and inventory capabilities by tightly integrating demand intelligence, inventory strategy, and operational execution.
Operating as a senior individual contributor (Level 6, Senior Manager equivalent), this role drives synchronization across Merch Planning, Inventory Management, Supply Chain, and Finance to ensure demand and inventory strategies collectively support sales growth, inventory health, speed to market, and guest experience.
This role influences enterprise decision‑making through Integrated Business Planning (IBP), builds scalable planning and inventory frameworks, and leads complex, cross‑functional initiatives across discretionary, fast‑fashion, and frequency businesses.
