AI Engineer

San Francisco Bay Area company · Full-Time · Early-stage, founded by ex-Apple and ex-Meta engineers

About us
We’re building an AI-native platform, and it’s live with real users and growing fast. We’re a small team of strong engineers, and we’re hiring an AI Engineer to help build the core of it.

What you’ll build
Agentic systems. Design and ship the LLM pipelines and agents at the heart of the product, and see them used by real people.
Infrastructure that scales. Build the backend, data layer and pipelines behind a fast-growing user base.
Speed and efficiency. Make AI generation faster and cheaper while keeping quality high, using evals, caching, routing and prompt design.
Developer-grade tooling. Build the tracing, metrics and eval tooling the team uses to understand and improve how the system behaves.
Systems that improve themselves. Build feedback loops so the platform gets better with every run.

Why you’ll like it here
You build things that ship. Code goes to production in days, not quarters, and you see the impact right away.
You own what you build.

You’ll own real systems from design to production, with no layers of process in the way.
You get a wide scope. One week it’s a new pipeline, the next it’s an eval framework or a database design.
You work with AI daily. The team uses Claude and coding agents every day, and we value engineers who use them well and review their output critically.
You learn from robust peers. You’ll work directly with the founders, ex-Apple and ex-Meta engineers who care about craft.
You grow with the company. In an early-stage startup, your scope grows as fast as the company does.

How we work
Fundamentals first. We solve problems at the root and design them out rather than patching around them.
Data over opinions. We measure, ship the change, and check that the numbers moved.
Simple over clever. We keep designs pragmatic and know when not to over-engineer.
Ownership. We find the problems that matter and drive them to p
