About The Language SKOOLThe Language SKOOL (TLS) is a language education organisation offering programmes in French, German, Japanese, Spanish and English, including preparation for examinations such as TEF and DELF. Through its remote learning model, TLS supports learners in developing language skills for education, career growth and international opportunities.
We are looking for an experienced Accounts Head to lead the organisation’s accounting and finance function, strengthen financial controls and support management with accurate reporting, budgeting and financial planning.
Role OverviewThe Accounts Head will take ownership of books of accounts, financial statements, statutory compliance, cash flow and organisation-wide and departmental budgets.



The role requires a hands-on qualified who can manage day-to-day accounting while providing financial insights that support business decisions.
Key Responsibilities1. Accounting and Financial Reporting
• Oversee day-to-day accounting and maintain accurate, complete and up-to-date books of accounts.
• Manage monthly, quarterly and annual financial closing.
• Prepare and analyse profit and loss statements, balance sheets and cash flow statements.
• Review ledger balances, bank reconciliations, receivables, payables, provisions and accruals.
• Prepare monthly management reports highlighting revenue, expenses, profitability, cash position and financial risks.

2. Budgeting and Financial Planning
• Prepare annual and periodic budgets for the organisation and individual departments in consultation with department heads.
• Monitor actual expenditure against approved budgets, investigate variances and recommend corrective actions.
