About the Role

The Innovation Lab applies and adapts AI to accelerate work across eGov’s spectrum of products and platform — DIGIT and the products built on it, including DIGIT HCM (Health Campaign Management). The Lab runs a continuous pipeline of experiments, taking validated problems through bounded prototypes to capabilities that eGov’s product teams can adopt. It applies foundation models and modern GenAI techniques to gov tech problems rather than building models from scratch.
The AI Engineer is a hands-on builder in the Lab. Working closely with the AI Tech Lead, the engineer turns experiment ideas into working prototypes, runs evaluations, and helps build the reusable components and harnesses that keep the Lab fast — following sound engineering discipline throughout. This is an early-career role for a fast learner who is fluent with contemporary AI tools and eager to grow, with depth built through pairing, code review and bounded experiments across applied AI, engineering craft and the gov tech domain.

Key Responsibilities

• Build prototypes:



Turn experiment briefs into working prototypes under the direction of the AI Tech Lead — using foundation models, LLM APIs, prompting, RAG and related techniques.
• Evaluation and evidence: Help design and run evaluations of prototypes for quality, reliability and latency, and capture results, limitations and observations clearly.
• Engineering quality and SDLC: Follow a disciplined development lifecycle — version control, code review, automated testing and continuous integration — writing clean, tested, documented and reproducible code.
• Reusable components: Contribute to shared components, evaluation harnesses and starter repositories that raise the Lab’s throughput.
• Handover-readiness: Produce clear technical notes and documentation so prototypes are transferable rather than black boxes.
• Communicate and collaborate: Pair with the Tech Lead and partner engineers, present at sprint showcases, and communicate progress
