Designation: Engineer – Geotechnical (Dams)
Function: Water & Dams – Project Execution
Reporting To: Manager / Sr. Manager – Geotechnical
Location: Project Sites in Bihar

Role Purpose
The Engineer – Geotechnical will support the execution of dam-related geotechnical and structural
monitoring works across the project lifecycle. The role focuses on field execution, instrumentation
works, data collection, and documentation, while working under the technical guidance and
supervision of the Manager / Sr. Manager – Geotechnical.

Key Responsibilities
1. Survey & Site Support
 Assist in geological, geotechnical, and topographical surveys for dam projects.
 Support borehole logging, foundation exposure mapping, and site condition documentation.
 Maintain accurate survey and investigation records for engineering reference.

2. Instrumentation Installation & Commissioning
 Execute installation and commissioning of dam instrumentation including:
o Piezometers (VWP / Standpipe)
o Inclinometers
o Extensometers
o Settlement gauges
o Strain gauges, load cells, pressure cells




 Follow approved drawings, method statements, and QAPs during execution.
 Ensure correct positioning, protection, and labelling of instruments.

3. Execution & Site Coordination
 Supervise technicians, helpers, and subcontractors at site.
 Coordinate with civil, electrical, and automation teams for integrated execution.
 Ensure housekeeping, safety practices, and material accountability at site.

4. Monitoring & Data Management
 Carry out periodic and real-time data collection from instruments.
 Validate readings, maintain data logs, and flag abnormalities.
 Support uploading and maintenance of data in monitoring systems or dashboards.

5. Documentation & Reporting
 Prepare installation records, calibration sheets, and daily progress reports.
 Support preparation of monthly monitoring reports and interpretation notes.
 Assist in preparation of as-built drawings, O&M; manuals, and handover docume
