Company Description
Impulse Mechanics is an independent game studio based in Bangalore, India. We're currently developing our first PC title, Mech It Happen a sandbox physics builder game for steam.

Responsibilities
• Understand the game’s core mechanics, genre, target audience, and existing visual references.
• Explore and establish a distinctive art style and visual direction for the game.
• Create concept art, moodboards, paintovers, and visual explorations to test different directions.
• Develop a comprehensive visual bible / art style guide covering environments, materials, shapes, colors, lighting, props, and overall visual language.
• Take existing greyboxed environments and levels and translate them into finished visual concepts.
• Design environment assets and props that support both the gameplay and established art direction.
• Create production-ready 3D models and assets based on approved concepts.
• Establish reusable workflows, modular asset sets, and guidelines that allow the visual style to scale across the game.




• Work closely with the developer to iterate on art direction based on gameplay and technical constraints.
• Help maintain visual consistency as environments and content are added.

Requirements
• Strong portfolio demonstrating both visual development/concept work and 3D modelling.
• Strong understanding of shape language, composition, colour, materials, lighting, and environmental storytelling.
• Preferred experience taking environments from greybox → concept → final 3D assets.
• Preferred experience with a up-to-date real-time game engine; Unity experience preferred.
• Comfortable working independently and taking significant creative ownership.
• Able to communicate the reasoning behind visual decisions and iterate quickly based on feedback.
• Experience with stylized 3D, mechanical/engineering themes, sandbox/building games, or indie games is a strong plus.
• Available for freelance/contract work and able to commit consistently throughout the
