Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced CNC VTL Setter to handle machine setup, tooling, process optimization and production execution. The candidate will be responsible for achieving daily production targets, improving productivity, reducing cycle and setting times, ensuring First Time Right quality, and implementing Lean manufacturing practices.

Key Responsibilities

- Set up CNC VTL machines, including job setting, tool setting, offset adjustments and program corrections.
- Ensure daily production targets are achieved as per the production plan.
- Drive cycle time and machine setting time reduction to improve productivity and machine utilization.
- Implement Lean manufacturing, 5S and continuous improvement initiatives on the shop floor.
- Achieve First Time Right (FTR) and reduce rejection, rework and machining defects.
- Train and guide new operators on machine operation, setup procedures, quality requirements and safety practices.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, machining instructions, tolerances and GD&T.;
- Select appropriate cutting tools, inserts, machining parameters and workholding arrangements.
- Monitor tool life, cycle time, machine downtime and production output, and take corrective action.
- Perform first-piece inspection and ensure dimensional accuracy through in-process checks.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and coordinate with Quality, Production Planning and Maintenance teams.
- Maintain production records, tool usage records and machine setting documentation.




- Ensure adherence to process parameters, safety standards, housekeeping and shop floor discipline.

Required Technical Skills
- Strong hands-on experience in CNC VTL machine setting and machining.
- Knowledge of cutting tools, inserts, tool holders, workholding and machining parameters.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and understand tolerances and GD&T.;
- Knowledge of measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers and bore gauges.
- Understanding of tool offsets, wear compensation and basic CNC program editing.
- Ability to identify machining defects and implement corrective actions.
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, 5S and productivity improvement techniques.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Achievement of daily production targets.
- Reduction in cycle time and machine setting time.
- Improvement in machine utilization and productivity.
- First Time Right (FTR) and reduction in rejection and rework.
- Tool life improvement and reduction in tooling costs.
- Compliance with safety, 5S and process standards.
- Effective training and development of machine operators.

Preferred Candidate Profile
- Minimum 5 years of total VTL machining experience, including at least 3 years as a CNC VTL Setter.
- Strong shop-floor ownership and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to train operators and coordinate effectively with production teams.
- A proactive approach to productivity, quality improvement and waste reduction.
- Willingness and availability to work in rotating shifts, including day and night shifts, as per production requirements.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
